There were a lot of errors in this story, but I really don't want to get into detail. You chose good background music to go with it which was almost redeeming. You still get my thumbs up, but you should consider getting an editor and pre-reader to look at your stories before posting it.

Just bare with me, Trixie will have friends, a coltfriend and other things. Just other stories have to be posted so I wont disrupt the my headcanon timeline.

"Trixie just gave up" story kinda one of my pet peeves. Yours actually very nice and solid, just ... Trixie? Giving up because of what exactly? Twilight becoming princess? How's that makes her give up anything, they already patched things between them in "Magic Duel", Trixie knows firsthoof about power and it's danger, they even acquantances, if not friends. If anything, it makes her wish of greatness even closer - as I mentioned, mere unicorn became Shadow King. Mere unicorn became Princess. Mere unicorn Starswirl was greatest mage. With those examples how can anypony, how can Great and Powerful Trixie expect anything but greatness in future?
2207852 Alright I'll explain, The reason why Trixie gave up was not because of Twilight being an princess. But the fact that she's so far behind her, and without friends or family backing her up. She falls into giving up, she believes that she'll never be worthy as Twilight's rival or friend if she can't even defend herself. She's upset that Twilight's friends, family and enemies were able to make so many accomplishments while Trixie just always fail. The events in Magic duel are true, she DOES apologize, she ran off and lived back in the everfree forest(In my head canon that's where she lives). Yeah things had patched up between Trixie and Twilight. She still feels hopeless and weak, and wants to be strong like her and when she found out that she became an alicorn, it made her dream impossible. Twilight has already left her in the dust and Trixie has no support for her to spring back up and keep going. The reason why she has given up because whenever she uses magic, it fails horribly. Most talents aren't suited for people, and although Trixie is a unicorn. She doesn't have THAT much proper training since her mother was killed by an Ursa Minor and her father became "insane"(Spoiler). She has no one and she wanted to stay strong for herself. So she trained herself, which was good at first but it didn't top Twilight's power. Note: This is her depression talking, and soon a certain princess will take her under her wing(Spoiler)
So please expect some more answers(I can't say much because I don't want to spoil it)
