Out of the blue, an attack on every major city in Equestria, and some non major cities, by an organized, secretive group of unicorns leads to some questions being asked by the non-magic wielding users of Equestria, and sparks high tensions between the different groups. These tensions threaten to start an all out civil war.
Twilight Sparkle and her friends are called upon to help stop this threat, but will they be able to come together, or will these tensions tear them apart as well?
(I sort of took this idea from another story I read once, but it wasn't well received and I can't find it again. Also, I don't know what to do for cover art, lol. One more thing, this story is subject to having its ratings and categories changed once I figure out a main direction for where I want to take this story)

going to be honest, i had this idea as well but with more than just unicorns starting things up. Let's just say it has something to do with the season finale and ponies start to question Twi's ascension if she is really worthy of leading or not. I won't go too much into it, other than that. Can't wait to see how this goes.

You know, this kind of remindes me of 9/11. Out of nowhere for the first time in over 100 years America was attacked on our own soil. A large part of the public was outraged and everyone was asking the same question "Why did they do this?" and "Who did this?". Of course we found out who and pretty much swore that we would attack them and not stop until they are defeated. Thus' we were plunged into a war that has lasted to this day.

There was also the issue during WWII when the government rounded up a lot of the Japanese Americans and put them in internment camps. I think this fits that a bit closer than 9/11, because this is an entire part of the population that's going to have troubles. Though, most people of middle-eastern descent nowadays are stereotyped to be gun-toting bomb-wielding terrorists.
