Brony Eagle Scout

Sometimes, first impressions don't show the best in a pony or the things that they represent. When the new Equestrian Scout troop raises the unsuspecting ire from Rainbow Dash, how will Twilight react to claims her friend is making?

Thanks go to Doctor Strangelove for the editing.

Strange I thought this was influenced by the National Council planing on discussing the issue.

You did good with this my friend, simple but well thought out. You've incorporated the history of the Scouting Movement into Equestria very well, and the controversies as well. I can take a guess at what hate you got, damn idiots. Also I like the inclusion of the small town of canoeists called Ely. I think this can be added to the scouting group as well.

Thank you for commenting on this unpopular piece of fiction, Ongoing continuation may start sometime in the next two months or if inspiration strikes.

I just heard about the new legislation and I'm excited for it. And I thought the Ntier reference would get some attention.

Well nothing has been deiced yet on the issue and won't be until the end of the week. So keep you eyes to the news and wait. Perhaps it could give you some inspiration for another chapter.

There wont be another chapter. If anything, there'll be a new story about the troop activities.

good job im in scouts my self and in this story you brought up the main points of controversey in the scouting in the real world but it is now changing with athesists and gays being allowed in to the ranks

Found you while reading the comments from another story, nice to see there's another Eagle in the Herd. I almost wonder if there's some real-life written in there. Regardless, a nicely written tale.

I'm with you, by the way. I remember reading way back when that in several other countries it wasn't "Boy Scouts" but just "Scouts," because they didn't separate the sexes (I'm almost curious as to what Girl Scouts are taught, actually). I remember one time I was walking down my town's Main Street and two guys tried heckling me about selling them cookies. I replied "actually, we sell popcorn," then ignored anything else they might have said as I continued on my way.

Something from a Scouting event, though I can't recall which one: My Troop (85, by the way) found out it was going to rain the next morning, which also happened to be the last day of the trip, so we packed up our tents as quick as we could instead of going to the camp church (it was Sunday, after all). After we finished, and it had indeed started raining, we went to the food tent to pick up our breakfast before we went. As we reached the doorway, there was a guy standing there asking everyone what they thought of church that morning, and when we said we didn't go, he immediately told us to get out of the line. Our response was to send one of us after our Scout Master, who came back and told the guy off big time. It's become a fond memory, despite a half-hour standing in the rain.

SO MANY EAGLES HERE! We're gonna need a bigger nest........ anyways its nice to see some eagles here it makes me feel more at home in this fandom.

Former girl scout here. My troop wasn't very high-budget, so we'd have meetings once a week in a vacant classroom. We had show and tell, had a snack, then did an activity-had a scavenger hunt, picked up litter. From what I've heard, boy scouts is a lot more exciting, but I think we at least did some good for our local hiking trail. 'Course, my memory's aren't the best-I left in the fifth grade because my after school schedule was getting too busy.
