WanderingPony

Sequels3

T
Source

A defeated Sombra finds an unexpected ally deep below the surface of the Crystal Empire- one that's waited an eternity to set things "right" for the entire planet. When he returns to bring war and the destruction of everything ponies have worked for, will the magics friendship can forge be enough to turn back dark powers older than Celestia herself? Or will Sombra be the spark for a fire that burns the peace and order of the world into monster-filled ashes?

(This story lovingly borrows plenty of elements from Square-Enix's work and mythologies as the chapters progress- and the cover image is mildly spoiler-iffic for the later story.)

Wow, this is completely epic! How has nobody seen this yet?

Also... Jolfr? I'm fairly sure this fic has something to do with Final Fantasy, but I don't recall there ever being a villain named Jolfr.

If you'd like, I'll PM you a clue on that...but it'll be mildly spoileriffic. Suffice it to say it's actually a traditional equine name for a classic FF character...

(also, I'm a brand-spanking new author on FiM, so word of mouth? What word of mouth? Wishing For a Little Moon was short-and-sweet at 2000 words, so I bet it takes more to chew on this one.)

That was pretty metal. Lovin' it!

I really, really hope to see more of this soon.

Can't wait to see what'll happen next. Keep 'em coming, man!

Big Starlight and Orange Wedge are Biggs and Wedge. Can't believe I didn't notice that sooner.

Eeyup! And you realized it just in time for Chapter 11, too.

Big Starlight? Orange Wedge?

What you did there. I see it.

Now, have you figured out the identity of Sombra's benefactor? There's another hint in the spell Celestia tries to use to get rid of our unicorny BBEG...

Who is the main villain? I seriously have no idea

:rainbowderp: Drowning demons? Pinkie is hardcore.

*Bearer Wounded* *Emergerncy Override Activated* *Time To Put The Harm In Harmony*

I really like your series! Very well thought out, epically wirtten, and really good.

And just as you posted this, you get another chapter. Enjoy your :raritycry: !

Can you PM me the meaning of the name origin too?

The Final Fantasy series, a good chunk of XI and some bits of VI mixed in for good measure.

Yeesh.
Maybe it's just that I don't get most of the references (not being much of a gamer), but it does feel as though you've crammed as much drama and It Got Worse as possible into 30K words. And, judging by the blurb for Twilight... (which was actually what I found first), it's not going to improve for our heroes....

...Well, it works.:twilightsheepish: I'll be back, even if it takes a while. (I have a habit of just moving on after first installments of fics and pretending that's it for a while- but then those endings usually work as endings, as with The Secret Life of Rarity or And So it Ended, and So it Begins Again, while this is practically a No Ending, so I suppose I'm being silly.)

Heh. You have to write a story with a bang, or the echoes from later works don't carry enough meaning later on to keep people reading- or at least I like to think so. Plus, keeping an AU in sync with an evolving canon is interesting and frequently rough-draft destroying!

Admittedly, killing off a lot of characters helps keep you from going too crazy. Maybe that's why so many AU stories have apocalyptic themes, just so the authors don't go loony trying to keep up with everything. o.O

What just happened in this chapter again? I'm confused.

The Elements were a prison for an entity previously split up, that was used to power their effects. Unfortunately, it seems to have gotten out and stuffed the Bearers inside it's old containment system while it decided to attack it's ancient enemy, Sombra's army of monsters.

While each of the old parts of the containment system were ideal for trapping their bearer, it wasn't quite so good when the prisoners broke -each other- out.
