Some spelling errors here and there and a few capitalization misses, but nothing major. And whats with the polygamist crap? Ugh!
I really got turned off when I heard the mention of that! I mean I realize MLP in the past seasons has been predominantly female in population, but this doesn't mean they roll like that! Even in the show itself a couple is a COUPLE! Not a bunch of disgusting polygamists!
Sorry for the rambling, but I totally despise polygamy! The story is rather good.

Also, I liked the idea of having clothing as I too felt fur was not a substitute for proper clothing (I've got a thing for clothing so yeah.) I find it kinda funny that the female is kinda the "worker" type pony and the male is the "stay at home" type. Actually in our society nowadays its more even with male and females. Heck they are even allowing females to be in the armed forces as foot soldiers now! And I am ok with clop so long as its tasteful and written in as PART of the story and not just sex for the point of sex. Ya get me?
And where are you centering this story at? I see no mention of the mane 6 or anything from the Equestria I know of.

Have you not read the previous story? That one's still in the works, and is more focused on clop, but still. Same world, but it explains a bit more (and started as an RP to allow creative idea to take precedent, not story telling, so it starts as a weak story)

Oh, also, to answer your question about polygamy in this world, it's pretty simple: with most of the pony species in this world have anywhere from slightly to extremely disparate gender ratios, there's a minimum of around 3:1 females to males in best case scenario. As this is a pre-industrial world, that means population is more important than love and happiness in a lot of cases.
As such, small herds form as a base social structure, with larger herds forming the societal structure. The smaller ones are the families, and the larger ones are actual societies and the like.
And the worst case scenario? The Nightmares have a racial gender ratio of about 1000:1, female to male.
Oh, and one last thing: if you don't like the world, you don't have to read it. Polygamy is a central part of most of society in this story, so please be aware of this. But I hope you do, I'll be leaving some strong philosophical questions floating in the background for the readers to look for.

Jealousy, resentfulness, disrespect, ignoring some in favor of others, the list goes on. What happens when you're the only female in a group of males? Or vise versa? Some of them you actually have feeling for where as others you simply fuck them for the benefit of the population. How does it make you feel that you're simply around because you're needed to make babies? A machine called on when your services are required. That would make me feel simply like a tool that could at any time be tossed away in favor of a shiny new one.

If that's the sort of person you are, then you need to either work out your priorities or not engage in polygamy. I don't mind if you can't manage more than one person in your life at a time, but don't judge others just because they can.
Obviously, you ended up there by choice. Why would you have joined into a group of loving partners as the only member of a given gender if you couldn't handle it? If it sort of crept up on you, and you're not comfortable, you should sit down and talk about it. Duh.

If you take a look at the story long enough, you'll see that that's the issue that comes up. In fact, it's kinda the central issue in this story. Except the being thrown away part. There aren't enough to go around. No more than you would throw away the Mona Lisa, a one-of-a-kind artwork, they wouldn't throw away a mate so hard earned.

Also, remember that these are not humans. You seem to have a really narrow view on this, which I'll allow to stand if only because you are, in fact, entitled to your opinion. And it's my opinion that you're wrong. Three cheers for the first amendment, which means you can say whatever you want. I only hope you try opening your mind, if only to look beyond preconceptions and understand that what may not work for you does work for others.

Remember that all of these are from the viewpoints of humans who were not raised around the terminology.
Also, remember that the show refers to females as either mares or fillies. Or just girls.
As for Colts and Stallions, I've been fudging it a little for a combination of artistic licence and the fact that these are ponies coming up with this terminology, resulting in different uses for the terms due to memetic shift. Just as the term 'ass' has moved from specifically a type of wild onager, to donkeys in general, to the human posterior, is a good example of memetic shift in action. Just as, in the show and fandom, the term 'Flank' has been changed from the midst of the barrel to the hip or actual buttock of the ponies.
Languages evolve just as much as any living species.
(Now I have to bunker down and hope you aren't a rabid creationist)

I know this an alternate universe fanfic, but keep in mind that incorporating new species puts the author at a disadvantage in front of his audience because sometimes the author can use an excuse that the new character(s) use to ease their way into or out of conflict through ridiculous means or through rather quickly escalated means and sometimes the author won't notice that they did something like this. I am not saying that incorporating new creatures is a bad idea, I'm just saying try to keep the number of creatures to a steady amount. Also, giving creatures REALLY beneficial super powers or special capabilities like fyre could be capable of doing is not a good route to take either for the same reason mentioned above. Do not remove her, just don't make her too OP. (Overpowered)

Ah, well, not all Blaze-Ponies can do what she can. She's an actual, honest-to-goodness prodigy. Most Blaze-Ponies can't use any magic except their own racial magic, which is pretty much just manipulation of their 'servitors'.
The thing where she Awakened the fire was actually pretty much summoning a Fire Elemental, or maybe transforming a small fire into a Fire Elemental, but the whole thing is based on some pretty complicated spellwork that she can only use so well because she's what she is.
Also, she has a pretty severe range of disabilities. Snowballs? Fuckin' lethal to her. Water of the earth or sky? (rivers, ponds, lakes, rain, hail, snow) It'll harm her like throwing chunks of acid at her, to varying degrees based on source.. Ocean water? It's a contact poison, like getting mercury poisoning.
She can literally only bath in water that has been brought from a hot spring, or that has been tempered/corrupted from its origin by civilization.
No, the OP races are ones like Enderponies (natural teleporters or supreme ability, whose touch can dissolve organic materials into nothingness) and some others like Magma Slime Ponies. (living magma, naturally sitting at a couple thousand degrees kelvin)
Pyrelight is OP as a character, not as a member of her race.
Ooh, and just wait'll someone comes across a Thunderbird, or a Winterwing. Neither are pony races, but both of them are awe-inspiring.

Smithing between sources of elemental force is an interesting process, especially when done in the right combinations. If/when this world industrializes, nearby nations are going to be screwed. Assuming there are any nearby nations, but those might be a world over or so.
After all, what can you do about an Earth Elemental that spews napalm, has a metal shell, flies with more maneuverability than a gnat, doesn't need to breath underwater, and can survive nuclear fallout, and the nuke itself as long as it's far enough from the point of impacts (around a mile or so away, to avoid the early shock wave)

But the Slime Ponies were intro'd before, and they simply come in a variety of 'flavors'. Including Magma, Spelljelly, and the infamous Black Pudding, which is a hell of a lot worse than it sounds.
You wanna know what's really scary? Nightlings. They have no form of their own, so they take the forms of things that terrify you most so you'll leave them alone. They eat dust and lint. Not that dangerous unless you're scared of something with physically dangerous features, like a Blue Shell or something. Or pools of acid.
