Six months after the events of the Crystal Empire, Princess Celestia finds that she must go to a place she does not want to be to perform a duty she does not wish to undertake. But as the steward of the world, it is both her duty and obligation to attempt to redeem one who has fallen. Doing so is always a gamble, but will her gable pay off, or will the butcher of the north show her his true colors once and for all?

No mercy for the guilty,
Bring down their lying sun.
Blood so silver black by night,
Upon their faces pale white.

damn that was good

I'm glad you thought so and enjoyed it. Honestly, it was really hard for me to write this and have it come out believable, but I was very pleased by the end result :ajsmug:

I actually didn't want to read this at first because when I read a story through the eye's of Celestia I always feel funny inside. I can't describe the feeling but I guess if I would try to put it in words I'd say it'd be insignificant or sad.
So I guess I can describe it... :derpytongue2:
The story was great and well written although there were a few typos which is perfectly understandable, they were very minor things that happen when typing.
I could tell you gave a lot of thought to this story, and quite frankly I'm surprised this doesn't have more views.

This is pretty good, would be interesting if this story went another way- where Sombra would admit that he does feel a ping of regret for something, Celestia saving him or something.

But bravo.

2195865 Thank you very much. I might do a side story like that and see what happens.

Thanks for causing me to go on the brink of tears. So sad...snivel...

I love King Sombra, he is my favorite MLP villain, and I agree the most undeveloped. You did a very good job on the story, his personality, and Celestia's
actions and sorrow. Luna was also very well written. This is probably one of the best stories I have read in a while. Good job. :D :fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry:

You're most welcome! :twilightsheepish: :yay:

Thank you very much for the compliments and I'm glad you enjoyed the story. As I said in my notes, this was actually really hard for me to write, but it makes me happy that you felt I did such a good job with it. Many thanks again! :pinkiehappy:

Honestly though, I really need to do some re-writing/editing on in it in places now that I've reread it myself a few times, but that is mostly for purpose of story flow rather than anything I want to actually change. :twilightsheepish:

Rofl. :D

No problem, your story deserves it.
It's understandable if you want to edit it, though I don't see where. I get that itch myself where I have to keep working and working until I feel it is just right. Keep up your writing, you do very well. :D

Impressive and incredibly original piece. Brilliant take son Celestia's personality and on Sombra. Luna & Shining were also very well handled.

Thank you very much for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed it and liked the way I did the portrayals!

Wow... once again you've taken an underdeveloped character I have never been terribly fond of and you made the character shine. Funny story is that I could almost be talking about Tia, but I do love her so I really do mean Sombra. I loved it when he realized not only that Celestia could destroy him fully, but that she was already destroying him.

*takes a bow* Thank you very much, I'm glad I was able to make Sombra shine for you in the story and that you enjoyed the way it played out. The part where he comes to the realization was probably my favorite part of the whole thing to write.

A very enjoyable story! A lot of hard work went into this. The dialogue was captivating, and Sombra, Luna, and Celestia were all well-written. The message of there indeed being those who are beyond redemption is a powerful, true, and rare one that even the show has not bothered with any longer. Thanks for sharing!
