Personally, I think it, while definitely isn't MLP sided, shows a true emotion to it, showing that some people/ponies just can't go it alone. When Pinkamena/Pinkie thought she was alone, without Dash, she broke, and then, not much later, without either Pinkie or Pinkamena, she broke as well.

Hundred bucks most downvotes are from whiny birches who barely read more than a few lines.

Yeah, but I don't really care about downvotes XD I posted a story, I think it's good, and there are people who like it here and on ff.net. So I'm good. And really, it was showing how two people (or ponies, in this case) who are so in love that it literally is a void if one dies. Pinkamena is extremely insecure, therefore she doesn't view Dash as a permanent fixture in her life and thinks that eventually she'll leave her. She can't deal with the thought of that, or hurting Dash to get her way, so she takes herself out of the equation to "take Dash out of her misery", even though there isn't really any misery to begin with.
