Same story universe, different context. To put this and that one together, I would have needed some sort of transition material to segue smoothly through the time between then and now, and while that's possible (and I've considered writing a more detailed version to flesh out the premise), I feel like those creative energies are better spent on making something that's a bit higher quality from the get-go.
They're both standalone stories; you just get a slightly better sense of what they're talking about at the beginning if you're familiar with the original.
However, if new readers are lost without having read the original, then I failed to successfully write this as a standalone. If that's the case, then I'll need to rethink it.

Yeah, I have to imagine that most if not all of the downvotes are from people who are scared of BDSM.
