What is the plot of this story?

So far it's going to be set before Grogar and have Alex come into contact with events before mlpg4
He will then help to set things up in advance for the ponies to welcome more humans later on.
This story is mainly about the fight with grogar and how he'd be defeated without Celestia and Luna being there.

The monsters will be almost completly diffrent minus a few handful, and Alex will have to work together with the ponys to beat gogar.
he's not getting any "gifts" outside of his friends and whatever they bring to the table as the beings that they are.

He's going to stay a normal human including whatever knowlage he had before which is things most people can learn quickly like
how to treat a wound without proper first aid, what to do if your lost, how to hunt, basic strategy, mlpg4 and g5 and monster knowlage etc you get the idea.
it's all going to be basic stuff you can learn in school, youtube or by looking it up.
Outside of making a potatoe gun which is something you can do but is hard to do, but that's something I personally want to add

Here's the potato gun video. It's called a potato launcher I made one as a kid with my father I want him to make one too as a kid with his brother.
Also I'm currently writing my next chapter as we speak but it's going to be a bit.

Also I wanted to give you all a heads up
There will be 8 ponies, 3 humans, and 3 other species in this that will be helping long term.
Each one of them will bring something to the table for Alex it will be bonds or his ability to help people when they need him, he's not good at much else but he's great at they, for Shattered canyon they bring "strength" whether it's pure strength or strength of character they have it.
Also I'm using they because Alex doesn't know there gender yet and I plan on doing a poll soon.
