This story is a sequel to Luster Dawn: New Days of the Magic of Friendship
Follow the Endings for the Legion of Doom that you prefer. Different fates await Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow after they have been defeated and surrounded again after being released from stone by the real Grogar. Part of the Successor Verse.
Both light and dark versions will be featured here following the ending that occurred as there two options one can follow. Reading those stories is optional but not required. I'd recommend New Days as it tells the whole story in one.
In Light: All three are redeemed and are sent to Tartarus to serve a prison sentence for a time but will be released and given a second chance after seeing the error of their ways.
In Dark: Chrysalis refuses to give into the final shot at redemption and attacks Starlight in a final act of revenge. Starlight and her family and friends fight back and kill Chyrsalis, Tirek tries to avenge his comrade in rage but is snapped by Discord into the sky where he falls to his death. That leaves Cozy Glow who is captured and sent to Tartarus for life. But will she spend her life there? Or escape and seek revenge?

somehow I'm not very happy with this "light transition". Chrysalis as a character who has already lost almost everything she had just gives up and finally gives up the rest without gaining anything in return? It seems to me that if I were in her place, I would go all the way against the one who ruined my life (Starlight) or died doing it. (Therefore, most likely I would have expected a dark ending.)

Also she didn't lose everything cause of Starlight. She choose to turn her back on the hive as Starlight pointed out. Couldn't get over her thirst for power and choose a better way. It was her own fault as they said. At least in my eyes.

technically that sentence from Starlight could be read as "I took everything from you, but maybe you'll get it back if you give up now" because everyone actually appointed Thorax and was discussing "the overthrow of Chrysalis" even before she got out of the rubble. And when Chrysalis got out of the wreckage, absolutely everyone was looking at her in "combat mode, ready to attack" (changelings included).
perhaps if it was the changeling who made the offer, the result would have been different.
Also, Chrysalis promised to take revenge specifically on Starlight and no bad words towards the changelings were noticed.

By the way, the real Dark ending is usually considered to be the one where even the killed villain leaves the hero with irreparable emotional and reputational damage.

I don't think I'm gonna go quite that dark. I mean who is gonna blame Starlight for killing Chrysalis? Except for Cozy Glow and Tirek now? Of course Starlight will probably have some remorse. Also on closer inspection you might have a point on the thing you were talking about with it being able to Starlight took everything from her. I hadn't had time to really think about since I was busy at work. But Chyrsalis did have the chance to keep it. Starlight offered her a chance at a new life to be friends and change into a better creature that didn't neeed to take love. And Starlight raised good points that Chrysalis refused to listen to even after she saw Thorax transform she refused to change. But if you prefer the dark ending that's up to you.

Well I got to say this was a pretty interesting one and I actually chose over the Dark One I'd rather have the light ending of your other story having chrysalis actually given into friendship even coming back to thorax and the changeling Kingdom even Tirek and Cozy glow as well giving them the backstory how they been going through maybe there's a chance we can help them for the best I'm afraid to see what's going to happen in the dark one probably I won't like it too much guess we'll find out next time

Yes but the thing that you see this sort of situation in just about every fanfic where Chrysalis reforms but fanfics where she returns to being queen after reforming are virtually nonexistent. I know of only three and in two of them that’s where the story ends. So that’s where my disappointment comes from because while what you say is true it can also be viewed as a missed opportunity for Chrysalis to be the queen her people deserve and potentially better herself further in the process. So again, I’m not saying it’s a bad decision or it would be better if you went a different direction it’s just that I think more authors should explore what would happen if she reformed AND became queen again since hardly been explored at all.

I think that would be a good idea. I always thought that one of, if not the best ways, to have a reformed chrysalis arc feel complete is if she went on to become the Changeling Queen again, but one that acts like a true, good queen. She doesn't have to become like a changeling version of the most ideal take on Princess Celestia, but you know what I mean.
I also like how this story has two versions, so it has its own "what if?" built in it.
The light version is pretty good. Can't wait to read the dark version. I'm giving you six stars for doing a good job. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well at least things gotten better for them so Twilight paid them a visit to see how much they did change the biggest surprise was chrysalis after the last time they saw her and her appearances as much different saying that she really wish to go back to her hive but not as her Queen but I'm sure they will be happy to see her in the new light and cozy glow still has some unknown history but she really wanted the power so she doesn't feel too weak but hopefully once she is out maybe there is a chance that she can still learn about friendship and Tirek would be able to see his brother and his father and probably somehow make amends to each other I got to say at least they learned a lesson and hopefully this will be a better future for them well I guess we'll find out next time
My suggestion:
Cozy would be more focus on Dangerous spell,maybe reading some books that shouldn't be read, use magic that shouldn't be used

Maybe, though the rainbow laser did include her friends. Grogar just gave her a jumpstart that also nearly killed her. Or practically did. But hey that could be a good idea since Cozy didn't hear that detail. Unfortunately Cozy Glow isn't an alicorn anymore. Discord returned her to normal so I don't think a spellbook would work. Well this is a very sweet and kind of bittersweet so it looks like years has passed and cozy glow is a young adult now and it looks like their time is up to be released Twilight open the cages and they are free Twilight invited them to a picnic so they discussed what they're going to do but it looks like all three of them are going to go to their separate ways going to the fact that they had a long ways to go for their Redemption and they had a pretty interesting conversation with Twilight but once it's done they can go whatever they want to as long as they are in good behavior so with that chrysalis Tirek and cozy glow say their goodbyes and even say friendship is Magic and somehow they got their magic back so this is definitely a good start for them I wonder what's going to happen to them and will they ever meet again I guess we'll find out next time
Okay, seven more chapters to go. Four for the light version and three for the dark. Hate to have one version have more then the other but the light requires more development. But we’ll see if I do more for the dark.
Well you got to remember in the Redemption you have all three of them and and the dark version you only have one character who's still alive so that's going to happen

Awww that's actually pretty nice so after being separate from the other two Chrysalis returned to the changeling hive and after a couple of few years things change reflecting on the past how things could have gone differently and she was going to look for the other changelings but they were in disguise and apparently they were supposed to be a surprise welcome back did not go very well but at least it didn't go too badly she even apologized to everybody for what she did in the past but it looks like thorax forgave her and the other changelings as well even though she was forgiven she still got a long ways to go I'm sure she will have a brighter future I wonder how the other two are doing I guess we'll find out next time again I'm a sucker for Redemption story

Well I would say this was a pretty sweet but also kind of bitter so Tirek return to the kingdom and of course most of the creatures there were pretty welcoming after what he did and he doesn't blame them the only thing he's concentrating is his father and also his brother Scorpan once he did return he tried to apologize to his father and his brother as well even the father still felt guilty for everything happened but his younger brother forgave him and he always knew that someday he will come back as a better creature even if he can't return to the kingdom but at least he got the chance to say something to his family but he will be nearby he will have a long ways to go but soon or later he will get there now I wonder how cozy glow is doing guess we'll find out next time
