Ok, I’m starting to think that sunset in a hallucination. It’s either that or she still has access to some of her magic.
I think I prefer the first one, here things were much less subtle which kind of cheapens the impact. I'm still curious what you'll do with all this.

I mean I would, if I had the slightest idea what I'm writing. Which I barely do, so I guess here's a spoiler with the few things I have pieced together.
Everybody started drifting apart and Rainbow felt like she was getting abandoned, so instead of checking up with the others, she left. She went far far away, basically leaving her duties as the element of loyalty, and strive for the thrill of adventure. Sunset, being the rich person she is, owns the space program and snuck herself onto the rocket.
Please don't read this, it really does kind of spoil the story as well as the other ones that will most likely come out.

I agree, the first one was much better. I will try to make the third one much better, more subtle and such.
I too am curious on where I'm going with this, as I write most of my fimfics at night time, when I'm a totally different person. So I really have no idea how my mind works and how I execute said thoughts.
I thought the point of a mystery story was to answer all of the questions said mystery has.
I'm looking forward to the 3rd story and see who it is that Sunset will have a talk with.

I'm a firm believer that stories should never answer all questions and that when Authors answer questions, it harms the story.
I mean think about it, some of the best stories out there just end and leave the reader wondering; "So what did the character choose? What happened?"
Like in the 'Lady or the Tiger'. The story looses when the answer is just given to you.
