That scene was definitely hard for me to write as well~ I've felt what it's like to be pressured by others and to feel like you only have one choice in life, so when I was writing that, I wanted the audience to feel that despair in her voice~

In the first story, it's shown that Pinkie Pie doesn't really want to talk to Adagio again, just like Fluttershy. Now, Adagio tries to talk to her the day before the family reunion, making her whole apology feel fake. It would be like someone telling you, "Hey, I know we've had our differences, but I apologize. So, let's have fun at this event tomorrow." If Adagio had apologized to her earlier, maybe it wouldn't feel so forced. When apologies feel like they're more of there just to try and avoid awkward circumstances rather than someone actually being sorry, it makes it feel so fake.
