"I'm sorry I can't relate,/I refuse to associate,/So don't go blaming me for your bad hair day." -MxPx, 'Bad Hair Day'

The incident happened one day in class and Sandbar had be excused. Next time we all saw him, his mane was a complete disaster. It was absolutely a hilarious sight for the rest of us. Unfortunately, I have a feeling it might be affecting Sandbar and he's going a bit off the deep-end.

Didn't think I could imagine Smolder being so cruel... shame we didn't see Sandbar get payback after what she did and how she reacted from the aftermath.

(though I don’t blame him for missing Counselor Trixie’s algebra class)

What? Who's bright idea was it to have Trixie teach the algebra class? :rainbowlaugh:

Sandbar had a sigh in his voice as he answered with his own question, “Have you ever met a bald pony before?”

Like...completely bald, or just balding? Because I do recall seeing one or two mostly bald (in the human sense) ponies pop up a couple of times in the show. Not terribly often, but enough to take note of them, and considering the non-reaction other ponies always had to them...

This was a nice little fic, and the comedy element was nice, though I did feel like it was a little mean spirited towards Sandbar at times. I mean, yeah, that was the point, but I still kinda have to pity poor Sandbar for ending up being the punching bag for the sake of the fic having a story. It gets acknowledged in the end and some amends made (Smolder did kinda get off easy for her role in it), but still.

Doesn't kill the fic though, it's still an enjoyable read.

The rest of us were still frozen in silence, unable to say anything for a while. Completely speechless. I’m not sure how long it was, but the first one of us to say anything was Smolder, and it was just her giving a stifled laughter. It didn’t take long for the rest of us to join in with snickering and, eventually, full laughter.

oh wow sorry sandbar lol

Smolder couldn’t help but snicker at Yona’s reaction and inability to lie about Sandbar’s mane.

Well to be honest yona does represent the element of honesty

“Oh dear, not gum,” Professor Rarity took her reading glasses and placed them aside. “It is the bane of any creature’s hair. Truly, it is an absolute nightmare! I can’t even begin to imagine what you had to go through with getting it out.”

Oh trust me I remember that situation

and you can actually understand his situation

Ok this was a pretty good short story to see the kids again and what a really bad situation for sandbar having a gun stuck on his hair and I will have to admit one thing about the situation I felt like smolder in the story was a bit too much I mean I get it the sometimes she jokes around but it felt like she was being really mean in this one and I felt like she should hold account for sandbars hair but at least gallus was a pal to help him out and he even admitted that he was also at fault even though technically it was still her but anyway the story was good keep up the good work

I said the same! ... But perhaps if we ask nicely enough, Closer will consider a novelization of the ice cream hijinks? :fluttershysad:

I remember at least two such ponies from season 2 (during the "Perfect Stallion" song and in the scene prior to "Smile Song") and one from season 5 (a judge from "Brotherhooves Social"). All of these were of a venerable age, so I reason that they've had plenty of time to grieve their mane loss and become accustomed to baldness. Their age also gives them an advantage in maturity over a student-aged colt ("End of the End" notwithstanding).

It made sense to me, that's all.

Classic Simpsons gag.

Really, it's a bit annoying how "steamed hams" got so memeified when there are literally hundreds of better memes from over the years.
