I'm thinking that many machines or contraptions would have enchantments/magitech in them, and would be able to recreate a levitation/stasis field if it's required for the process. Here, it's used to make sure the cart stays in one place, and so it can get to the undercarriage and wheels easier
Not the same wash, but it's by the same company. Gears went through a tunnel wash, while Switch went through a smaller bay wash. As for a safety system, it's been proven that the wash is gentle enough to be used without harm to the individual. So the company might release a statement about how just because creatures can be washed in their washes, doesn't mean they should be going through them. Other than that, there's not much they can do about it, as their system is only smart enough to adjust itself, but not smart enough to ban pony-like objects

Though the enchantment would contain them for a few minutes. So them, the wash, and ponyville as a whole would be safe as they went through
Can you imagine (write) the destruction that those three plus an automated cleaning system would cause?
Ponyville would wind up super clean.
