Alex Warlorn

Just your average Brony who happened upon an idea that might actually turn out to be clever enough for guys to love.

T

The humans have crushed the evil but incompetent pony invaders. Equestria now belongs to them as their new state. Celestia and the other so called Princesses are all dead or put in their place. It is truly a glorious time for humanity!
Except... Twilight Sparkles know that this can't be right!

It's not just ponies the potion offers transformations of after all.

One just has to vent now and then, huh? :ajsmug:

(Never liked the concept of the Conversion Bureau myself, but some of it's bashers make the original story look good by comparison. )

I've seen a reading, and most of what people think of the setting wasn't in the original story. Like basic narrative coherence

10962330
You mean the scant 20K words the original spans is not representative of the millions of words that comprise the Conversion Bureau corpus? Imagine my shock. :duck:

which is rather ironic, since the original story was pretty twisted to begin with. just goes to show that things can always get worse.

Only two things stand out, first is that Twilight figures out what's going on and solves it WAY too quickly and easily, to the point it shouldn't really have been a problem at all. Second is that they seem to just be getting rid of this new draconequss to maintain status quo, because if they don't either permanently remove him from the scenario or "re-educate" him to be more ponylike he'd fight to try and fix things.

I was purposely trying to make this a very high paced story and to be a single chapter affair. So did require me to keep things moving. I admit DOES it feel rushed.

And no, it wasn't to protect the status quo, or him possibly fighting to fix things. It was that the shock of becoming a god without anyone there to help him left his conscious mind catatonic and his subconscious going wild with his magic. It's possible as a conspiracy theorist he thought gods were just fairytales invented to keep the poor from rebelling against the rich. So becoming an actual deity created an overwhelming cognitive dissonance.

Discord is the only one "qualified" to help him come to grasp with himself as a fellow draconequus.

That being said, who is to say with the actual god of chaos absent on Earth, a replacement might rise... like what happened when Discord left the realm of chaos and Pinkie Pie was there instead, and she nearly replaced him as the spirit of chaos.

Is this supposed to be a sequel of another story?

This was meant to deconstruct how many revisions to the lore it would take for 'Equestria is evil, but incompetent, and starts a war it laughably could never hope to win, and get crushed by the badass but relatable humans' to even remotely happen.

11012307
I guess is that, and that I know almost nothing about 'Conversion Bureau'... I knew the base that it was a strange war of Ponies vs Human and how in the victory Humans were turned into ponies... But the thing of 'First World' or Draconequs Potion or the way Twilight talked about it and seemed to know everything, confused me a little

This is set within Not Just Ponies. Which strips away the 'evil put stupid' pony aspect that was added in by later writers, and there were dragon, diamond dog, griffin, etc, potions too.

10962872
Not really. Some VERY BAD choices of words resulted in some unintentional screw ups with the story. The original story point of the story was "why are there so many human centric objects made for hands in a world where the majority of the population don't have them?" The rest was supposed to follow from that. The original author was not trying to hate on the human species.

11125823
i find that hard to believe. the main character was being outright praised by the main six for condemning the entire human race as greedy monsters, that's not "bad choices of words", that's outright misanthropy, regardless of what the author might have tried to claim later. sure, it was hardly as extreme as later iterations, but it was very clearly and deliberately depicting the human race in an absurdly bad light. i should know, i riffed the damn thing.

The real irony is that so many writers responded like spiteful teenagers having pony kind be slaughtered by the badass humanity doesn't do us any favors.

11125851
why not? it's one of the classic forms of fanfiction, one of its strengths, even. a person is angry at the way a story went, or angry at the concept itself, and rather than bottle up that anger or spend it on frivolous pursuits they channel it into a creative endeavor, making something that people like them can be entertained by. juvenile entertainment, perhaps, but what's wrong with that? it turns that anger to something positive, and they get some creative writing experience in the process. i'd say that does the whole world a favor.

11125870
I never felt anything positive from any 'Take that" CB story I've ever read.

11125936
well, that's unfortunate for you.

11125966
I've enjoyed without irony or sarcasm Mighty No. 9 and Balan Wonder World.

11125971
i don't know much about Might No. 9, but i will say that, while many games and works of fiction have been described as "dreamlike", Balan Wonder World is the closest thing I've seen to my actual dreams. not anything specific, but just the general tone of it. a strange mix of salient and surreal that is eerily reminiscent of the things i see in my dreams without actually evoking any specific one.

So you made a fic to bash the Negotiationsverse, huh? That's pretty crappy, and hypocritical given what you said on Bendy's "A Pleasant Conversation". Y'know, about how you shouldn't write hatefics, and if the (perceived) themes of a story make you angry just don't include them in your own story.

Why not write version of the story you DON'T hate, instead of spending time and energy tearing down it down? (I speak from my own actions.)

Of course you were still defending defending this fic even after posting that.

Thank you for your comment.

I thought about deleting this, but decided to let it stand.

This was an interesting take.

Thank you. I admit this was not one of my better written stories.
