I keep wondering why starlight didn’t go with them. An adult to help them explain things.
I'm really loving the small splashes of gender dysphoria added into this story. Great stuff!

Thank you so much for the compliment and comment. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. There's more to come, too. Pinkie promise.
Honestly, I'm in agreement with the person on Discord. Don't get me wrong, I do understand it. It's just disturbing that Sweetie Belle's own friends know her better than her own parents. I can even understand Hondo's reaction being what it is. It's just that Cookie, her own mother and the one who (allegedly) gave birth to her didn't see her own daughter in the changeling's eyes like her friends did.
Then again, it makes me think that maybe there is some kind of hivemind between the crusaders, like what Slow Poke said. If Sweetie was a changeling all along, perhaps they did create some kind of mental link. I mean, when they first heard Sweetie's story, I expected them to at least find Starlight and verify her story before just accepting her story as true. And then Scootaloo's refusal to believe that she's not the real Sweetie.
I also have an issue with the changelings still needing love. But I could get behind the idea that the process of weaning off is slow. And perhaps the next generation of changelings won't need love, or at least the need will be reduced so that after a few generations, they won't need love.

Apple Bloom was the most accepting one of the Crusaders at first. Scootaloo needed a moment to be convinced but the two of them eventually got through to her. These three are very tight in almost supernatural ways so I figured they'd not need too much convincing. Maybe you'd think that way about her parents too, but they panicked. Once they heard that something was wrong with Sweetie Belle they latched on to the first thought that came into their head that this new "changeling" is somehow related to, and given the fact she appears to be one of the unrefomred changelings, their fear pushed them into some dark places which Sweetie's hissing response didn't help with.
That's well possible. For so many generations this race had a keen dependence on this source of nutrition. Now that they are being weened from it, other types of nutrition are taking their place. In the show, there was a brief scene where the changelings were setting out dinner and what was on the dinner plate looked like some kind of giant catepiller.
Her name is Silverstream and also misspelled "stairs". Just letting you know :)

Good catch times 2. Even when I read that quote you borrowed, I furrowed my brows and asked myself, "Who is Silver Streak?" When you offered the correction, I realized it might have been an auto-correction or something similar. "stares" instead of "stairs" is my bad, though. I'll take the blame for that one. I go through this story many times to try to catch errors like that, but some still just keep slipping by.
You are a really fast reader, btw. Juding by the timestamp between these comments, you're just zipping through.
