Glad to see your continuing this. The focus on the Elements and Nightmare Moon's return was an unexpected but not unwanted shift. For something staring him this didn't mention Alduin a lot, but I see how it was needed in this case.
I take it the next chapter will be Spike's hatching and the day of the Sonic Rainboom. If not, then it honestly should be, dragging it out any longer would just get annoying at that point. We also need to know just what made the egg part of the unicorn exam.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, huh? Sorry to hear about that...hope your better now and can continue making these great chapters!
An excellent story, sir. This story has the distinct feel of having an author who said "This dungeon can wait, I just found a god damned book." in every Elder Scrolls game. Keep up the good work.
With so much technical jargon in this series, I would have expected you to know of the Hardy-Weinberg Principle.
Long story short, a family and genetic prevalence in a population does not change over time unless there is selective breeding or bottleneck effects. I mean a single family cannot pass down the Nightmare Moon Factor to encompass at least a third of the Equestrian population. Impossible, no matter whether there was a thousand years or ten thousand years.
Unless, the pattern of transmitting this NMM Factor was unlike genetics and simply wrote over all halfbreeds offspring from cross-breeding between a Night guard pony and a non-night guard pony, then I don't know, the number of ponies with this factor masking over them would definitely have been growing exponentially...
With Akatosh's schizophrenia, it's more likely that Alduin is simply his aspect as the destructive nature of Time rather than his literal child. Of course, when he deviated from his function as the World-Eater, he began to diminish, becoming the tyrant of Skyrim.
They owed her their very lives, and it stood to reason that anything which benefited her would in turn better the world.
That makes zero sense but such is the norm for ponies, judging by the show. Even human god-kings weren't viewed in such a light. More like "piss off the king and God will punish you".
she let her eyes linger on the world’s only hope.
Your tiny country isn't anywhere near being "the world".
The pitiful remnants of the mop exploded in a rain of splinters, and the guards fell into a panicked retreat. Their rescue had failed, their forces had been routed, and one mop had been killed in action.
a most excellent chapter, keep up the good work

Wow, you've really done your research. Heck, it's almost as if you went beyond playing Skyrim and read Tamrielic mythology.
