Interesting premise, this shall be Interesting. Though considering they noticed Steven was older, when are the Gems exactly in development? Surprised they didn't react to the Pink Diamond drop when Jake said it. Could make for an interesting talk next chapter. Hopefully the Ponies aren't the xenophobic type that take it to extremes but more show based and thus under the right circumstances are open minded to other species. Especially Celestia, her entire thing is meant to be kindhearted and open minded with regrets to poor choices in the past like how Luna was handled when NMM happened.

I just don't get writers. This is not even uncommon. I came across a story where the main character refused to tell the mane six his name, because he didn't know them and didn't trust them, , then proceed to give an eight paragraph explanation on his complete list of powers, and all of his weaknesses. But hell, he didn't know them well enough to tell them his name.....
