Ten years ago you left Ponyville, intent on traveling Equestria and seeing the world.

At least, that's what you told everyone.

As you make your way back. You realize you never should have left in the first place.

This was excellent. And I can understand where he was coming from. To see someone accomplish do much and to have nothing to even come close to marching those accomplishments can be devastating to an individual's confidence. Very touching. Very well written too. I wish them both all the best

I’d like to think this is in the same universe as This

This was a joy to read!

Oh I knew it was only a matter of time before that wonderful art piece would inspire a fic!

I absolutely adored your story!

ngl this was a great read! 👏

Any chance of a sequel? IF so maybe a reference or two about the ASMR?

Wow. Its been a while since I liked a story this much. Very good my friend!

“None of that now. We may have lost some time together. But we still have much more left. I intend to see to that. Let’s call it a new beginning.”

I will say though, I wish Rarity would've assuaged his feelings of inadequacy instead of just brushing them aside as she did. I would've liked a little pep talk from Rarity where she points out what makes him special and worthwhile and why his worries were unfounded. That's my only gripe/suggestion I have. Everything else is perfect.

Idk how youd do it,but more of this please

This was sweet, adorable, tear-jerking, and heartwarming. A well-written story that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Considering how long he's been gone, I couldn't help but think about this old song.

Onion ninjas probably came back again.

Late to reading this, but I’m glad I did. And the song at the end is the perfect finish to this.

Damn it's raining inside my house. :pinkiesad2:

Heartwarming, Cute. I love it

Rarity snickers into her hoof. Waving you on.

I'd skip to this part, i'm 'homophobic' and proud to be!

So long since this was posted, but I just read it, so screw it.

While I understand where you're coming from, I'll have to disagree. Self-esteem and confidence are grown from within. If one relies on others to instill them with worth, they will forever chase a fleeting thing, and be at the mercy of the whims of others.

In this instance, fictional though it may be, I feel the scene was handled well. The "brushing the aside" is there doing what you asked for; it's succinctly dismissing his claims of inadequacy as though they don't matter, because they never mattered to her.
Reassuring him is nice for an ego boost, but unneeded. He admitted that he shouldn't have left, that he didn't need to improve/gain fame, or match her in earnings or stature. He'd already gotten over that, and came back to her.
