This story is a sequel to The Tale of Two Sisters
In an attempt to defeat Discord after he first arrives in Equestria, Valkyrie Lieutenant Shooting Star finds herself inexplicably stranded two-thousand moons in the future. Will she be able to return to her own time with the help of Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends?
While a spin-off from Chapter 11 of The Tale of Two Sisters, prior knowledge is not required, but is intended to be read in parallel. Set after the Season 9 time-skip, it is a celebration of Friendship is Magic, and a final goodbye.

This is of course assuming that time moves at a similar speed between dimensions and that not too many years have passed.
Oh, and it's also a shame so few people have commented on this story. I've really been enjoying it so far. The premise is engaging, the story is well-written, and the main character is interesting.

Honestly, my opinion of G5 (the movie, at least) is that G4 was just stories made up by her father, since they don't seem to be mentioned anywhere other than those hoofmade toys (inspired by the 'real' Wonderbolts and symbol for magic). Having said that, watching the movie was what inspired me to add these points about generational legacy, with an epilogue that directly alludes to G5, in the current draft at least. Things can change pretty drastically over the rewrites, though, like the end of this chapter.
I understand that Twilight wants to help Shooting Star to go back where she came from, but you’d think she’d be a little more worried about changing the course of history...

There's a future-Equestria epilogue coming soon, and the possibility of two more bonus chapters in the future: one what-if, and one covering the mentioned O&O session.
