Sequels1

T

Ever since his parents passed away, Timber Spruce's life has been a mess. Nagging self-doubts, a stressed-out sister, his beloved camp is behind on its payments, and nobody to talk to about it. In spite of all this, he and Gloriosa Daisy must put on happy faces and pretend like nothing's wrong as Camp Everfree enters what very well could be its final week...

Ever since the Friendship Games, Twilight Sparkle's life has been chaotic. Having to adapt to a new school with a completely different set of ideals, learning the ropes of friendship, adjusting to the fact that magic exists... and to top it all off, she's been plagued by nightmares of her magically corrupted alter ego, Midnight Sparkle!

The week these two will have may just change their lives for the better...

(This is intended to be a slightly different take on Legend of Everfree, with more character development and additional scenes for Timber and Gloriosa, with maybe the teeny tiniest extra bit of TimberTwi.)

Sex tag is for implied masturbation, talk of masturbation, and non-descriptive nudity.

Volume I of TimberTwi Tales, which is set in Not Just Any Old Continuity. (But this can be read on its own.)

Here is a list of all my stories for convenient access!

Aww, great start. Poor guy.
I love the way you portrayed Timber. He feels a lot more real and relatable then what the movie did to him. I never hated him like most seem to do, and I think his character would've benefitted a lot more if he had more screentime. This single chapter shows just how much potential he has.

I just want to ask if the HuMane 5 will have more involvement in the plot, unlike the actual movie?

I'm not sure I understand your question (then again, I just woke up and am a teeny bit bleary) ^_^;

Sorry I took so long in getting back to you. :twilightsheepish: I might give the rest of the girls some extra attention, but I want to focus mostly on Timber, Gloriosa and Sci-Twi.

Damn. Heavy start to the story. You have my attention, I shall definitely be following this!

Gloriosa found her geode necklace as she got dressed. She picked it up and gazed at it, wondering how on earth this sort of power came here in the first place. She shrugged. It didn't really matter as long as she put it to good use. No sense looking a gift horse in the mouth, after all!

That pun. I don't know whether to congratulate you for it or slap my forehead.

Okay, joke aside, solid work! Guess we'll be seeing Sci-Twi next chapter, huh?

Poor Twilight. And while I know that it's a thing from the other stories with her in this continuity, I must admit I did laugh to see the casual mention of her masturbation habit. Bit of levity always helps somewhat in the narration. Keeps things from getting potentially *too* heavy.

Why is this getting downvoted? We're barely into the story, there's not enough to make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, TimberTwi is a rather unpopular ship. Some people dislike it enough to downvote it on principle.

Wow, I hate that this story had the same amount of upvotes as downvotes. I rectified that issue (at least for a little while). It's a shame people won't even give this story a chance and downvote it automatically when they see that Twilight isn't a lesbian.

So far, I'm enjoying it! It's nicely written, and I really like that you gave an explanation for Gloriosa and Timber's parents being absent from the events in the movie. I mean, I'm sure we all assumed they're dead, but it's good to see you've taken the siblings' mental state into consideration too.

The first three chapters were interesting, alternating between the main three characters you've chosen to focus the most on and their varying states of mental and emotional wellbeing. Nice work, I like it a lot!

I'm really eager to read more when it comes out!

Great work expanding on the original material from the movie. Drama-wise, I really was impressed by that opening scene with Timber and Gloriosa. And humor-wise, the ending with Filthy's arrival and Gloriosa's response was gold too. XD

"The sundial was our year's gift," Celestia chimed in.

Luna coughed. "Even though 'some people' thought it was a little impractical, since the sundial can't be used at night."

Careful, Luna. Your sass is showing.

Well that's stupid. I mean, I'm not a fan of Timber, but that's just rude.

I'll admit, I've been a bit iffy on my feelings for Timber and Twilight's relationship because the movie never explicitly states his age, but a quick Google search has definitely quelled my fears of him being way too old for Twilight. So now that I can confidently ship them without worrying about their ages, I feel more comfortable leaving comments talking about how cute they are.

I really like how you've given Timber more of a character and already had him relate to Twilight in a cute way. The way you hopped from his perspective to hers during their first encounter was surprisingly not frustrating. Usually when the POV shifts a lot in a story, it's difficult to follow. But when you did it, it was relatively easy to keep reading without missing a beat. If I remember right, their relationship isn't the main focus of your story, but it sure is a good side focus already!

I hope to read more soon, and I hope people stop downvoting just because they feel threatened by the title.

Solid work as always. Though I think that one of Midnight's taunts to Twilight may not be fully italicized- unless that was intentional? :twilightsheepish:

Also, the people who are downvoting this story just because it's got TimberTwi in it really need to grow the fuck up and get a life. :ajbemused:

Yeah, that was a slip-up on my part. I corrected that. Thanks for the heads up!

Also, just ignore the downvotes. I love writing this story too much to care that its being downvoted on principle (unless there's a legitimate reason behind it)

Solid work as always! Again, I like the way that you keep building on the original movie, it's going really well in my opinion.

Solid work as always. I particularly enjoyed the first scene with Timber and Gloriosa, that was really nice to see the sibling interaction between the two of them there.

Other highlights would also be Gloriosa advising Timber about Twilight, and Twilight's talk with Rarity about her crush. :raritywink:

"I'm scared, Gloriosa. And I'm angry... and those goddamn negative thoughts aren't helping things either!"

"You're still having those?"

Timber held onto his left arm. "They... they never really left. It's like they're slowly chipping away at me." He hugged himself. "Like they won't stop until I'm a shell of a man. Completely broken."

I know that feel, bro.

Solid work on providing more character material for Gloriosa. I really enjoyed the scene of her walk, and then her in the cave. Job well done!

Poor Sci-Twi.

Still, I really enjoyed the character work in her talk with Rainbow Dash at the fire. Solid work once again!

This was a good chapter (as always)! I enjoyed Twilight having a real conversation with Rainbow, who is someone in the group who we don't really see her talk with much in the movie or show (unless they're getting mad at each other).

I love seeing Twilight's inner thoughts when her friends bring up "power-crazed magical monsters," with complete disregard to how it makes her feel. I imagine that would make someone feel pretty scummy.

And hey! You finally have more likes than dislikes! Well, for now at least. I hope it lasts.

Me too, hope ya didn't jinx it. j/k

I'm sure I've said it before, but I am really enjoying the characterization into Timber and Gloriosa in this story. It really goes a long way towards fleshing both of them out and adding some real dimension to them. ^_^

Also, nice work with Twi's magic first flaring up. And I snickered at her realizing that she would "have" to go the week without masturbating.

Ouch. Really good work with this one!

Lovely work, as always! I do so love peeking into the thoughts of Timber and Gloriosa (and, honestly, who doesn't adore Twilight?), as well as their reasonings for doing what they do.

I've really been enjoying this story so far, especially the more mature route you've taken by sprinkling in some tasteful profanity and mentioning self-love rituals from time to time. It definitely gives Legend of Everfree more of a.. relatable(?) feel.

Relatable in the sense that the characters feel more real, and not in the sense that magical trauma is common. I'm sure you know what I meant.

Anyway, great chapter! Can't wait to see more from you!

This was another solid chapter. I really enjoyed the dialogue between Timber and Twilight, especially when it came to the matter of Timber's past, and Twilight's family as well. (Twilight Velvet being the author of an equivalent of the Percy Jackson series? I approve. XD)

XD Glad I could help. There's plenty more where this came from!

Excellent work as always. I got a chuckle out of revisiting the cookie dough scene again. XD

What a cute chapter! Loving the fluffy little feels lately, they're nice little breaks from all the sadness and gloom (though I like the unhappy stuff too).

What a warm and fluffy chapter this was. Really, really enjoyed the interactions between Applejack and Sci-Twi in talking about family, friends, and being together. :ajsmug:

Solid work as always. I particularly enjoyed Timber's section this chapter - although for me the real highlight was Sunset and Twilight later on in this chapter.

And then that ending just cracked me up. Perfect place to conclude. :rainbowlaugh:

Oh no, the ship haters have come back for revenge! I wish people would just read it before deciding whether they actually like it or not. It's pretty easy to tell when someone just hates the ship because they don't bother to leave a review arguing that the story isn't good and instead just leave a measly little thumbs down.

As always, a good chapter! I really do like seeing this from Twilight and Timber's perspective as opposed to Sunset's, like how it was in the movie. Sunset is good too, though. Don't get me wrong there, but Twilight is adorable.

Uh-oh. Calm before the storm indeed. I shall *definitely* be interested to see what comes next, particularly with how you portray Timber and Gloriosa (especially if we go into her head as Gaea Everfree) in the next installments!

Solid work! I really liked the subtle touches of Gloriosa's feelings clashing, so slightly, with her mania as Gaea Evefree. I always really enjoy seeing how people write someone who's gone nuts on Equestrian magic.

Hoo boy, do I bet that the next chapter is gonna be an emotional one too...

I'd say this is probably the best part of the story so far.

I'm glad you both enjoyed it! I've had a tendency to rely heavily on tears in past stories, and I was a little worried that I didn't tone it down enough this time around.

10168334
I think you did a really good job balancing it all out with this one. It said exactly what needed to be said, without getting really overwrought or too detailed. Solid work.

Oh my gosh, the first flashback gave me goosebumps. The childhood innocence and meeting a newborn baby really took me back to the happiest days of my life. This story is one of my favorites on this site, easily. I'm still baffled at the number of dislikes this has. It's a damn shame. This is my favorite chapter so far. I've got older and younger siblings, and I just love how you've captured that strong relationship so well, especially with Timber feeling like there's nothing he can do to help his older sister and Gloriosa believing she's making the right choices despite Timber's fearful warnings. Throughout this story, you've floored me time and time again with their wonderfully written interactions. This chapter really takes the cake for the best one yet.

I'm flattered, you guys, but surely there are other great stories out there besides this one!

Disclaimer: I have enough confidence in my writing abilities to ignore downvotes, but not too much that I'd ignore constructive criticism.

Nicely done. Part of me kind of wondered if this would be, like the previous one, a big focus on either Twilight or Gloriosa's thoughts or memories, but I still really enjoyed this!

Okay, so I gave this a read, and I still hate this ship to high heaven. The story didn't help that in a good way. And here's why.

The whole movie was stupid beyond repair for me as it was, and then the forced Sci Twi shipping did not improve my opinion of the film. Was it that Timber was no more interesting in any way possible than Flash? Yes.

Normally I don't care that anything fanfics do will never be canon in any possible way, but some make that work better than others. This isn't one.

I thought I could say why I can't like this, and never will, but I guess I really can't. But I'd thought I'd at least say so.

10179788
Well I thank you for at least giving it a chance by reading it, even if you didn't care for it.

Have a good one!

As always, another great chapter! This story's updates always put a smile on my face.

Major props to you for sitting through this fic. I would never be able to read the entirety of a story about a ship I despised. Mad respect.

That bit at the end I did not expect at all, and I fucking love it. :rainbowlaugh: You idiot, Rarity... XD
