A month has passed since the nightmarish mid-term duel between Princess Twilight Sparkle and the dethroned Duel Queen Sunset Shimmer. Now under the help and guidance of her first five friends at CHS, Sunset must prove herself to those around her of her change, free from the darkness that once poisoned her thoughts.
The road to redemption is lined with obstacles and hardship, as the very students she once dominated over as the undisputed champion duelist of CHS, seek to assert their newfound dominance over her, whilst trying to fruitlessly earn the trust of one she wishes to call a friend. All the while their fellow students begin disappearing day by day.
Sunset and her friends must solve the mystery behind these disappearances, while most of the school is ready to accuse her, and the dark powers she once wielded. But is she the only one to have such power? And who are the three new girls enrolling at CHS, and what is their fixation towards Sunset and her friends?

The second arc of Equestria Girls: Duel Monsters. As a new chapter opens; there have been changes set for the formula: No longer will duels be limited to only official cards, but cards seen only in the anime, as well as original additions to existing card series and archetypes being also made valid.

Humm now curious why sort of Deck Sunset and Twilight will use. Did Sunny get back her Propecy Deck or will she have to use a new one? Will Twilight's deck have Equestrian cards in it now? Would be interesting to see reactions of Twi breaking out Equestrian Magic based cards or monster cards. Imagine all the humanoid monsters as ponies.
I have a Dark Magician Deck with enough heavy hitters to make most players hesitate to face me on a good day. If you want I could PM you what's in it and you can work from there.

Don't know how I feel about a magic counter deck for Sunset. Feels like something more geared for Twilight. I like what Darthvalgaav did a bit better, giving one of the Sunset's a Magical Musketeer deck. If you were going for a non extra deck type of deck

Well at least the "spontaneously creating new rules" thing from the anime where pendullum summoning was introduced is kept up. Seriously Pendullum summoning just "happening" was almost season 1 levels of pulling rules and effects from thin air! Really go back and watch the Duelist Kingdom arch, the times Yu-Gi BSed rules and effects into existence is insane!

You need to consider that it's not going by exact real-world logic: Given that it's already embracing the notions of a game based off dark ritual combat that someone patented and packaged and there being schools set up that teach said game. I prefer embracing certain facets of the insanity and ludicrousness of the source material.

I honestly don’t know what people’s grievances with Vrains is, specifically. Was it the new summon mechanic? Master Rule 4? The plot direction? The characters? The story? The speed duels?
Personally, I liked Vrains. Granted it definitely had some downsides from time to time. Like how season 3 was rushed and left some open ends. But I still enjoyed it nonetheless. In fact, I actually have a story in the works....well, it may take a while to plan everything out.
I'm commenting in case you dont know or just wont matter. But when pendulum monsters are detached from XYZ monsters they go to the Graveyard. Since they are treated as materials being detached instead of pendulum monsters leaving the field.

Out of curiosity, what other decks do you plan on showcasing in the future? I always thought decks like Invoked, Subterror, Heroes(All variants), Cyber Dragon, Galaxy, Thunder Dragon, Mayakashi, Kozmo(hate it with a burning passion), Vendread, Nekroz, True Draco, and Raidraptor seem interesting. Oh, what about D/D/D since you're bringing in Pendulum as well? Or Pen Mags with all the Dimension Dragons? Oh, do you plan to include cards like Nibiru or Dark Ruler No More to completely shut down combo plays?
Especially since you're only going to Master Rule 3, where everyone can extra deck summon all they want, and even more so with Pendulum cards.

One: I don't like VRAINS due to how it affected players who generally relied on summoning multiple Extra Deck monsters that weren't Links and how it needlessly forces people to add cards into their decks that could potentially disrupt their strategies rather than aid in them. Also the protagonist of VRAINS is just Yusei.2; an emotionless emo loner who exhibits camaraderie only because the plot demands it. Plus I feel it just takes the franchise even further away from the franchise's occultist roots and turned it into the Matrix, only with card games. Yes, I know Arc-V wasn't exactly occult-themed, but it still addressed said roots in regards to the origins of Duel Monsters as a recreation the Games of Darkness and how the monsters are actually spirits, hence why giving them mass was a bad idea.
Two: As a writer I can't just disclose stuff from the story to my readers since that would take away from the surprise and just spoil everything (the only exception being my (unofficial) creative consultants).

Okay. Understandable. Just wanted to know your opinion on it. And I wouldn’t say it was exactly strictly the anime’s fault these changes happened. Blame Konami and their everlasting greed to short print good cards(Like Evil Hero Aduster Gold And Malicious Bane) and make new changes to the game. Changes that did make so many decks unplayable, which was disappointing. But wasn’t Pendulum similar in that regard? Like, adding Pendulum cards to decks that make them more competitive? Please correct me if I’m wrong, because I stopped keeping up with Yugioh towards the end of Arc V and got back into it half a year ago.
As for the anime, I will admit it had its downsides. Like shafting characters for character development, not addressing plot holes, inconsistencies, etc. part of that I think is due to the writers retconning stuff. Here’s to hoping the seventh series turns out better. Hopefully there won’t be anything too crazy to Master Rule 5, if there is one. A lot of people already complain about master rule 4, and if master rule 5 has ANOTHER extra deck summon mechanic, I feel like The game would implode in on itself.
Out of curiosity. What deck do you specialize in? I main Heroes right now. Trying to learn Endymion Pen Mags as well. Also trying to make Guru Control, because Subterrors are cool. Why must Pot of Extravagence be so expensive?

Nice chapter. But couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed that Fluttershy cheated... Uniflora’s summoned monster isn’t allowed to attack the turn it’s special summoned.

Ooh, two part duel! I love that turbo dueling is a thing in this universe, 5Ds was what really got me into Yu-Gi-Oh. But, I can't help but worry that Sunset's choice of actions upon finding 'Trixie's last known whereabouts' are only going to get her more flack. If it was me, I would have started shouting for Rainbow to come and see this for herself.

Well if you think about it; if someone were to, say, murder or abduct someone, they'd dispose of the evidence. Also as a high school graduate, you do not want to be lobbing around any extra weight with the books weighing like bricks in your backpack.

This fic made me try out an Endymion/Mythical beast deck on Yu-gi-oh Nexus, and it works really well for me. Not quite as well as Raid Raptors, but what does?

No because that would entail having to rewrite huge swathes of Arc 1 due to my awful deck choices and I can't find a 2/2/2 balance with the Summoning methods for six of the girls.
