E

Twilight gave the Young Six an assignment before leaving on a trip. To write a letter to her about a friendship lesson each had while she was away. Now that she has returned she cannot wait to read the letters that they had written. As she sits to read them she realizes that a letter is missing.

This story is a lipogram in tribute to the typewriter that broke at Bronycon2019. For those that don't know, a lipogram is a composition in which the writer chooses to not use a certain letter, or letters, from the alphabet. The letter in question for this story is the same letter that broke on the typewriter. The letter n.

Also many thanks to Csquared08 for editing the story for me.

It's okay, I guess.

I’m impressed.

It’s kind of clunky, but then you can’t even say ‘pony’ without using N. And it’s certainly more skillfully done than my one and only attempt at a lipogram. I do like how you had story-related reasons to cut off common character phrases that would have had an N in them.

I’ll have to talk to ROBCakeran tonight, maybe we can honor the typewriter in question by typing this entire story on it. If that’s okay with you, that is.

I would be honored to see that done. I made him aware of it before I posted it because the picture I used is the very typewriter in question. I wanted to get his permission before I used the picture.

It was quite difficult to write I assure you. While I am not quite satisfied with the phrasing in some places I just ran out of ideas. I ended up just going with the best I could come up with.

Thank you for reading it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
