Twilight and friends defeated Sombra after his return because Discord refused to fight in their place (and even hammed it up by taking a blow from the Crystal Empire's former ruler). The chaos master pushed the girls to find the magic in themselves to battle back the villain all on their own. But his 'lesson-teaching' gestures seemed extreme this time around, even for him. What is Discord hiding? What is he waiting for? And what does he want no one--neither the girls nor Luna and Celestia--to know? But Equestria's two soon-to-be-retired princesses want to understand.
A story told in several parts that will end when MLP: FIM does and we finally see what's at the end of this friendship rainbow.

Oh, this is so sweet! I'm a sucker for friends being worried about each other. Discord's so high-strung, I think he'd have a panic attack if a princess coughed at this point.
I do wonder exactly what Discord's afraid of. Does he think Grog would kill him and the girls, or mind control/posses Discord and make him attack Equestria? Either way, I'm praying for a happy ending and NO dead spirits of chaos!
One quick question though, are all of the chapters going to these epilogues to episodes, or are you just taking inspiration from them?

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying the story! Ever since Discord had that awkward look in the season premiere when the girls talked around him always being around to help, I've been very interested to see what the show has in store for him. As for what he's afraid of...I've got suspicions but not a clear answer myself ^^ So I'm trying to keep the options open in this story for now until we get more info from the eps. My main potential theories are either Grogar has the ability to control Discord since he's the father of monsters, or Discord knows that Grogar at full power is stronger than he is, but since the girls have beat Discord before he knows they might be able to beat Grogar and wants them in top form or Discord is very ready to sacrifice himself to stop Grogar, which means he won't be around to help the girls and wants to make sure they can take care of themselves.
So far I've been planning to keep the chapters as episode epilogues so that they can act as a follow-up to any new info the episodes give us about what might be coming (or any new situations that could freak out Discord). But now that you mentioned the idea, it might be fun to add in a chapter or two not related to any episode. I'll see what ideas come to mind :) Thanks for the thought!

Angel was pretty sassy in that ep and he was listing Fluttershy cliches at the time--I figured that line was him just expressing some annoyance that Fluttershy makes time for Discord just like she makes time for the sanctuary instead of just spending all of her time with him lol. That line made me laugh so much XD I loved Andrea doing Angel's character in Fluttershy's voice

Really loved Discord here putting his hoof down at the trio trying to crash Big Mac & Sugar Belle's wedding, he may joke a lot but you don't mess with his friends. 😀
And speaking of friends I loved the interactions between him & Spike, think he's the only one of the main cast (besides Fluttershy) that hangs around Discord the most.

I wasn't sure about Discord's characterization in the beginning, but there's a lot to like here. I enjoyed Discord dropping hints to the villain trio about the virtues of friendship, the interactions between Discord/Cadance/Flurry Heart, and the way you've written Fluttershy. Not to mention, the way the villain trio tricked Grogar about buckball was hilarious!
That you've been able to advance a coherent plot while subjecting yourself to the whims of canon is also admirable. I look forward to seeing how you integrate this with the series finale!
