Another wholesome "Lightning Dust in a Bar" short story. This story is decent, good for a quick read, although no offense but you have no idea how many of this type of story I have read. at least a half dozen or so. Still fun to read though.
9716758 Huh...
Why do I have such a strange fascination with Lightning Dust? I just got done reading a story with her going full dark and joining the Shadowbolts and now this bar story.
9997632 I've got the same thing going on. I don't know why I enjoy her so much, to be honest. Perhaps its because she has such a... well, sad story once you think about it. Perhaps it's more relatable?
Regardless, I hope you enjoyed.

In all honesty I think that might be because of the fundamentally flawed writing of the episodes she appeared in. Everyone’s so determined to hate on LD while ignoring that Spits and Dash are just as much to blame for the events of Wonderbolts Academy. Spits saw with her own eyes and heard it in LD’s own tone of voice how much of a hot rod LD is, but instead of putting her hoof down, she seemed fine with it until it was almost too late. It’s her job as commanding officer to get her cadets in line and she failed utterly to do that in LD’s case. As for Dash, she was just too afraid to raise a stink about it because she was afraid of making herself look bad by complaining. LD’s guilty of being a hot rod, Spits and Dash are guilty of not doing a single thing to curb it until it was almost too late. Wouldn’t Spits actually be found guilty of dereliction of duty, or something along those lines in this case?
Then in the Washouts there wasn’t even an attempt at some backstory so that we could better understand why she’s such a reckless lout. And “rivals for life?” Real magical friendship building there...
10003946 Yeah... you ain't wrong. On the bright side: we do got a lot to work with because of it.
