I haven't lived in Equestria long. I tried to acclimate to the society, but it was hard. After thinking of what i could do to make things better, the answer became clear. This is my story of how I adopted my daughter.
(A saccharine story featuring my character adopting a certain pegasus. I put some effort into this one and hope you enjoy the heartstrings. Criticism, edits, suggestions are all very welcomed, i want to get better as a writer. This might become a full story detailing he and Scootaloo's relationship if people want it. Hope you enjoy)

Good chapter love the story. just a difference of opinion about this.
"NEVER hit anypony, for any reason." I realize that words are not usually an acceptable reason to paste someone in the chops. "I'm going to kill you", being an example of what imho would be an exception. To say NEVER for ANY reason leaves a child or an adult with no way to defend themselves except running, which is not always possible. I taught my son that he was not allowed to start a fight. He was however expected to finish it. He is a marine and has the type of personality that causes children to run toward him if things get scary, Think Harry the bear at Fluttershy's but with jeans and a teashirt

I was thinking the same thing. Honestly, I think it would make more sense in the Dragon was the queen, princess the king, unicorn the bishop, and earth pony the rook. Pawns could be something like barrels or guards or something equally useless.

No. I'm gonna continue this come hell or high water. COVID and other stuff just put a massive wrench in everything. I aim for two weeks from now for next chapter, but no guarantees in this craziness.
I wonder if Rainbow Dash will be an antagonist (how dare you try to compete with me over Scootaloo, or I was the one who wanted to adopt her but they wouldn’t let me because of my dangerous jobs) or if she’ll be a love interest (this guy likes the filly I’ve taken under my wing so maybe he’s worth looking into)…
And maybe other mares will give Anon character another looking into.
I do think he should have a sit down with Cheerilee to get an idea about what Scootaloo needs improved and perhaps a discussion about achieving her future goals with a backup in case of injury or failure.
This would have been a nice opportunity to remind Scootaloo about the lessons from chess: think about the next move and several after that. Today she made a move with Sweetie without thinking ahead. Tomorrow she can try thinking ahead a few moves to work on her friendship.
Jordan / Anon seems to know a few ponies that could give him some advice. He knows Derpy who is herself a pegasus mother. I wonder if he’ll start writing to Twilight. Still interested in finding out Rainbow’s reaction to her sister’s adoption. That could be very nice or go crazy real fast.
This guy is emotional. He could have asked Colgate if she knew anypony who needed help, for a recommendation, or for a potential seasonal start date later on. He just burned that bridge.
He never asked Scootaloo about what her nightmares were about either. Could be fears about being sent back to the orphanage or something worse: fragmentary memories of why she was in the orphanage in the first place.
I think the nursing gig could be fun. Mayor Mare would be an interesting character to explore as well.
Definitely looking forward to more in the future.
