Princess Luna has seen it all in her time governing the dream realm. Anything can happen, and the surreal is everyday business for her. While it may be nothing new to her, a pony's psyche can suffer permanent damage after particularly bad nightmares. She must be careful when delving into something as complex and delicate as the mind.
This is meant to be a surreal kind of story with meaning behind the strangeness. Each chapter will kind of be its own story.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I might try to aim for stranger next time. This is my first time trying to write something surreal, and it was fun to write.

This is nice, and well-written. Luna is presented clearly and consistently. Nicely done!
The resolution is a little too staid and easily explained for the level of darkness and surrealism you've built up here, but that's not necessarily a flaw -- this could easily be the opening for a series of such tales, of deepening complexity. (It would be interesting to ultimately see a dream-world that even Luna, Mistress of Nightmares, has difficulty unravelling!)

Thank you! I honestly kind of felt the same as I was writing it, but I wasn't really sure how else to. Again, this was my first time trying something like this, so your input is actually very helpful. I think that sounds like a great idea. I think the next chapter is coming along reasonably well so far, and hopefully is an improvement.
Figure I'm gonna be chewin' on that nut for a good long while.
