Just a critic who happens to write about pastel colored magical talking ponies

Have you ever thought that your entire life was a lie? What if you woke up one day to discover that your own memories did not belong to you? Where would you go? What would you do to find out who you really are?

These are not my stories. I am not them.

Hope to read more of this story. This will be the second starlight story ive read (if the cover image is any indicator) and so far youve got an intrested reader. Most of the stuff ive read here has been sunset shimmer based so a change is inorder there lol.

Thanks for the interest.
I can't promise Glim-glam anytime soon, but I can promise that she will appear in the plot at some point :scootangel:
The cover image is a placeholder until I can get a commission.

No glim-glam yet? "You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly, sir" - futurama. Still im intrigued to read more, i kind of got a twilight zone vibe from the first chapter.

I hope to fulfil those hopes before they die out completely, but alas, it will not be for several chapters. Do be patient. I am glad you have enjoyed thus far. I endeavor to improve the quality with the next installment.

Well the premise has got me hooked. I'm going follow this and see where it goes.

I appreciate the encouragement. Unfortunately this really isn't that great. Yet. It's just something to help get me back into the game. Nice to hear from you again.

Interesting. I actually thought Lucidia might have been Celestia in disguise - the white coat, tall stature, hint of wings, the backstory about her being in "lighting" (ha!) and having designed something that ambiguously might have been around for centuries... plus the name, of course (see Latin lucidus)... although that would apply just as well to a pony who was genuinely into designing interior lighting.

I'll admit, you had me in the first half. :)

I could add this to my In/Out Box.

But let's face it, it'd be added to the Archives in under a week!

So why even kid ourselves?

You have an excellent knack for hooking in the reader.

Never, have I been hooked completely in just the first few sentences!

This is interesting, lovely, and above all entertaining!

Excellent job! 💞💞💝

so this is a story of Starlight's doppelganger?

You should read it and find out
Spoiler though: not really

When i read this, i will have dark chocolate on standby. The cover art already is depressing.

I will be keeping an eye on you.

I have to say I am impressed, I would keep my eye on you, hope you would do the same

I wonder if all of this was the consequence of a changeling sleeper agent project gone awry.

I am confused, is it a starlight story?

9783138
Not necessarily. She appears in a later chapter, but the story does not focus on her.

Yus!
Short though this chapter may be, it is still a wonderful story and you are very good at crafting believable suspicion in ponies.

Daaaaaaaang, son
This is gud

She smiled meekly until the waiter left, then seemed to relax a little. She gazed about at the chandeliers, as though seeing them for the first time. Fancy smiled and let her admire them for a moment before touching her hoof with his, drawing her attention back to him.

All of these "as if/first time" comments are really selling the idea of this mare not being quite what she allegedly appears to be.

Lucidia smiled and lifted her glass to her lips, then began. “Well, when I was a filly I was always fascinated by chandeliers. I helped design the ones this restaurant installed last year, you know.”

I get the feeling the fake heard her mention that line quote for quote and delivered it ad nauseum to start the conversation. Her parents are probably changelings as well, owning the restaurant, or perhaps when Fancy pressed the topic she didn't know enough about chandeliers to continue the conversation efficiently.

As usual, Spitfire is always on top of what's going on.

I wonder if this is the same changeling, cycling through disguises in an attempt to find her place in a world that doesn't want her? That's a true nomad right there.

Glad you like the story. Stay tuned for the next chapter, coming soon.

Glad to see this his back and getting good

No problem; good luck with college. :)

Yaaaay! It's back! I honestly really liked the sort-of randomness to the appearances, it makes it feel like there's something really big going on.

Glad to see this is back and hopefully those Changelings don't hurt Derpy

I'm really glad to see another chapter! This story and the idea of creatures changelings? having others memories is both eerie, and then sad once we see that they don't seem to mean much if any harm, trying to be who they think they are.

Are they all changelings though? And why do they have others memories? Wwhy do they think they're somepony or somecreature else?

Funny enough, I suddenly have a bunch of free time on my hands and no distractions to prevent my fingers from getting some much needed exercise. Also the air is cleaner somehow.

I continue to find this interesting. :)
And it looks like our mysterious, apparently even to themself, person may be getting some help soon!

Just finished with "Green is the Rose". An interesting tale you've crafted so far. I'm interested in what will happen next.

I appreciate the encouragement. No promises on the next release, though. I am working on it but between working 11 hour days and trying to forge an engagement ring for my gf, writing has become a low priority.
