Very nice story, nice bit of story and didn't seem awkward or forced at any part, the only part that seemed like that was that sandbar was already 'rock hard'. Other then that it all blended pretty well.

I guess it's easy to fall for getting soft n mushy, but every character should have it's own way to express it. I kinda feel sad many sound Blue eyed instead of (them) figuring out how to go about it.
Aside of that it's nice story.
