So based on the previous stories, especially The Princess's Gift I'm guessing that Rarity and Twilight go to the temple on Mount Caelum in order to meet the goddesses Celestia and Luna, and ask them for a way to cure the king.

... Death is unpleasant. Very much so. It's the end, the ultimate end. One that nothing and nobody can fight. It's the one fight that no matter how much you struggle, you can't win. But, because someone's dead, doesn't mean they're gone. Nobody is ever truly gone so long as they are remembered. Memory is powerful. The written word holds a kind of magic no other medium does. Because in the end, history started with the written word, and when the written word is gone, so will history end. King Platinum's death is going to hurt. It's going to hurt like hell. But no matter how much you may rage at the infinite universe, nothing will bring him back. So, when you have grieved, when your tears dry and you can finally smile again, remember the good times. Because a being's life on Earth is limited, but memory, is eternal.
I'm thrilled to finally see the start of this adventure after your blogs teased it so much. Though, aren't Celly and Luna gonna be in the tags? Wouldn't this be the one story where they appear in this AU?

Finally got around to reading this. Great start to this story, with interesting themes regarding Rarity's generosity and how Twilight and Rarity view each other being explored.
If you hadn't said before that you're avoiding Tangled: the Series until after you're done writing MLP fanfics, I would have thought you were referencing the "Queen for a Day" special here, with the massive blizzard and the princess having to take charge.
-nods slowly- Great start, as with your other stories you protray an amazing guard Twilight and I am sure many agree a perfect example of a princess Rarity. I await more of your story with baited breath and from one solider to another... Twilight guard your charge well...
