Vinyl Scratch - stage name DJ PON-3 - has it all. A swanky Manehattan apartment, the latest fashions, the hottest music, and a manager who obeys her every command. It's all about her - or so she thinks - but her manager Marble Star has other ideas, and is convinced he needs to help her change her cruel, self-centered party-mare ways. So when the opportunity arises for Vinyl to attend Ponyville's annual Music Festival which is being organised by a group of young musicians led by a cellist named Octavia, Marble signs her up immediately - and the cocky DJ ends up getting more than she bargained for in the small-town celebration. But will it be enough to turn her attitude around?

Oh, the ponies in the middle of the cover are Octavia and Scratch? Couldn'ttell over the tod awful filtering.

Seriously.
The cover is an eye sore.

Further more, WALLS OF TEXT EVERYWHERE!!

Vinyl, from many fan interpretations, is no where NEAR self centered.
I'll get to correcting later.

Hmmm, alrighty then. Hopefully this shall not be tossed to the wastelands of fimfiction. It's a pretty good start.

Vinyl Scratch, having next to zero canon development in the show, begs for open interpretation by whomever chooses to write her character; the author has every right to portray her in a different manner, and the general uniformity of her fandom characterisation arguably provides impetus for alternatives such as that shown in the story thus far.

So far, I like what I see. I shall be tracking.

The cover can be removed. I'm no artist, but *lolithoughtitwaspretty* :twilightblush:
Also, I don't *have* to stick to fanon interpretations, it is completely up to me. And I think detail is a good thing in a story. I am sorry you're disappointed, but I'm a first time writer on here. I'm looking for comments on my writing style and such rather than the cover.

Gee, hopefully not! I'll keep updating. <3

Thanks. :yay:

Alright SugarCube16 *cough* I mean DropTheBass133, finally read this. I was slightly dissapointed that the photographer wasn't Photo Finish :derpytongue2:

She would have to undergo some sort of huge life-altering event to think twice about her flashy lifestyle, and that was quite unlikely.

Foreshadowing, much? :pinkiehappy:

OH SNAP. I totally should've done that, shouldn't I? :rainbowlaugh:
And LOL. Maybe. :scootangel:

Heh heh, I get pretty fussy with fanfics unless they're exactly to my liking, and if I see a fanfic I don't particularly like that much, my first review probably will be a bit butthurt.

Anyway, I recommend getting a prereader 'cause you have nice writing but the walls of text kind of muddle it.

I understand! Critique is good. Thanks for letting me know -- I'll break down the next chapter a little more to make for easier reading. :yay:

I sure hope Octavia and Vinyl Scratch don't kill each other before we even get to see them in the festival. :applejackunsure:

A good story, I have not found any faults with it, and look forward to anything else you have planned for the story. However, I must inquire where you got the inspiration for Octavia's last name.
Sincerely;

Well, thank you! And... I'm not that sure, I think "Allegra" is a word that generally is used for music (or 'allegro' at least; using Italian I placed an 'a' at the end to signify her femininity). I think it's something to do with the tempo. Musical surnames for Octavia seem to be a pattern throughout fics written about her. Hope I helped! :twilightsmile:

1033857 Okay I looked into it and your right about allegro so that is pretty cool. It is just that every time I came to her last name I kept thinking about this particular medicine called Allegra. So it really had me confused. Still an awesome story and look forward to more.
Sincerely;
The Fictional Critic

I saw this updated on DeviantArt yesterday and thought "I'll wait for the email from FimFiction." Of course, it never came cause my dumbass forgot to favorite this! :twilightsheepish:

The sound of this had me intrigued, this seeming that all except one of the Vinyl fan-fics I have read allow Vinyl to be kind but able to get harsh when needed, but either way seems to be a good idea :twilightsmile:

1022051
Exactly. The same goes for Octavia, and the fact that they're both musicians and they (should) play opposite genres of music and to opposite audiences is the reason why VinylTavia is my favorite shipping couple.
