Elkia Deerling

Hello, my name is Elkia. I like writing stories and reading them dearly, and I am a big fan of Nordic culture. Enjoy my fiction!

T

When a young man, stricken by the terrible, black web of depression, tries to do the ultimate deed, the ponies of his favorite television show are doing whatever they can to save him from himself. Will it be enough?

Warning!
This story contains graphic scenes of pure emotion and depression, and may be confronting to read. Also, this story may or may not contain a lonely, tragic, and horrible death.

Thanks to Caroline Cottrell for prereading and editing. I am so grateful that I can always trust you with my darkest thoughts.

Holy crap, that was amazing!!

'notices that im the first to comment'

Oh First one...huh?

I think when I was about nine years of age to my twelfth year. I had thought about the same thing. But, instead of a gun it was falling into the nasty jagged concrete floor of my school which is yet to be fixed until this day.

Nice story, really felt the sadness in this one

This is some high grade wangst you've cooked up.

Thank you for the comment. I always try to do my best with whatever I'm doing.

I'm really glad you decided against it and chose life over death. You don't even want to know how many crazy ways of dying I cooked up in my mind when I was very ill. Certainly enough to write a thousand sad fics. People are stronger than they think, and with the right help, they are MUCH stronger than they think. The fact that you, just like Parker, didn't do it proves that once and for all. I wish you good luck in your life and much positivity.

The first one to comment indeed! I'm impressed. :derpytongue2: Thank you for your kind words. It really means a lot to me to see that others appreciate my story, and take the time to comment. Even just small comments really make my day, and motivate me to write more stories. I don't think I will write more sad stories, though. Such stories really burn through my soul, if you catch my drift. Keep on reading and keep on commenting!

me: *depression intensifies*

That's ecxactly how I felt writing this. But don't forget that this story has a good ending, and your own story can have a good ending too. Just talk to the right person, that's the message of this story. You have to take the first step, but you're strong enough, I know it!

Lots of love,

Elkia

Wow this fic is so deep. Splendid job writing this dear Elkia; this topic is very awful and delicate that is hard to talk about it, even through a fic. At least this one has a happy ending, but most the times its the opposite. Peace and brohoof /)(\

Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment. It really means the world to me. Funnily enough, my most controversial story gets the most comments. It is a very sensitive subject, one that I am--unfortunately--very familiar with. :pinkiegasp: I believe it is hard to function in society when one is mentally ill, and that society often misuderstands mentally ill persons. I'm not writing these fics to make one sad, but to grant a flash of hope. Depression can be cured, sadness can be banished, suicidal tendencies can be controlled, only death... that cannot be undone.

If you like deep and dark subjects and appreciate my writing style, be sure to check out my story 'A Story Worth Telling,' which covers the same subject but in the viewpoint of a pony. 'Don't Do it' is more of a one-shot, but 'A Story Worth Telling' is a longer, fully formed story. Feel free to check it out.

Peace to you too and wishing you lots of happiness,

Elkia

Wow. So true.

Yes, the truth always helps, if you stay true to yourself. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!

wow what a beautiful story alright i think i should put this one in my favorites to remember it also this story deserves more likes in my opinion

Thanks for the beautiful comment! You really put a smile upon my face right now! :pinkiehappy: It's very strange that the story I am least proud of writing ends up becoming my most successful story, looking at the amount of comments, likes, and views. Always remember that the most popular things in life aren't always the best things and the best things aren't necessarily the most popular things. I wish you good luck in your life and hope to see you again!

Elkia

9546782 your welcome and i'm glad i did you wrote a nice story i read the whole thing its as beautiful as my comment alright and that is true what you say is true alright please make more stories like this

9555434
I have ideas for another short sad story/ dramatic story/tradegy involving ponies and humans, so stay tuned. Good things come to those who wait. :pinkiehappy:

9556004 oh awesome and yes that is very true alright i believe that

I liked it, but I personally believe it would've been better if he actually did it.

9572972
Thanks for your compliment and your opinion! :pinkiehappy: I actually mulled over the ending for a long time, wondering if I should have let him do it or not. Maybe letting Parker die would have created a bigger emotional impact on the reader, but In the end I decided not to end the story that way, for that would destroy the whole message I'm trying to convey with it. Namely that when you talk to the right persons and take the first step yourself, you can overcome the darkest depression. I hope that explains my choice. Have a wonderful day!
