This story is a sequel to The Fugitive Draconequus

Twilight's crown has been stolen by a mysterious thief from another world, and she has to go and get it back! But when Discord learns that nobody else can go with her, he decides to give her a secret item containing magical power... just in case she winds up needing it. But when Twilight runs into Discord's human counterpart in the other world, will she regret bringing Discord's magic into the other world?

Reading The Fugitive Draconequus is not be required to read this story, although reading it anyway will provide context to events in this story, and it would also be much appreciated.

The image of Discord in the coverart is from Derpibooru by the user Markiz93.

And so it begins! I know that you guys must be eager to actually see the other Discord (and find out whether he's a good guy or a bad guy), but you'll have to wait until tomorrow!

"Time is of the essence," Luna said, and she started casting magic illustrating the night sky. "On the third day, when the moon is at its peak in the night sky, the gateway will close! And once it does, it will be another thirty moons before you will be able to return."

"Seriously, doesn't even matter," said Discord in deadpan. "I'll just bring you back myself if you need some extra time."

I'm really liking Discord's dialogue here. I think that even without his powers, he's the kind of guy that would just jump into a problem headfirst and worry about the consequences never. Human world possibly being over-saturated with magic? If ponies' friendship could create magical tools even more powerful than the Spirit of Chaos, then I wouldn't be surprised if Discord is curious to see if the humans could find a way to beat powerful magic with none of their own.
I'm excited to see where you're going with this. Tracked and favorited.

I am glad that you approve of my portrayal of Discord, but I feel it's only fair to warn you that this opening chapter is almost certainly going to be the only point in the story where the Equestrian Discord is around until the very end of the story, otherwise it's going to be all the human Discord, and he doesn't 100% act like the Equestrian one, although his personality should still be pretty similar for the most part.

"Oh, of course. Almost slipped my mind. The pass-phrase is..."

-leans in to hear the silly phrase Discord comes up with....-

He probably would, but she doesn't want to risk him going mad with power and using the crowns himself.

I can totally believe Discord thinking all cartoons ares just retellings of forgotten criminal history animated to look inconspicuous.

I don’t know which would be the bigger reveal: that Shaggy and the gang actually exist or that Discord is a conspiracy theorist. Discord being nuttier than trail mix makes too much sense for it to be true, yet Discord being right doesn’t make sense either.

This is incredible. I might also try to make that tube, for science, and musicly roasted marshmallows. :moustache:

I believe I know which costume he wore. But I can't remember what this kid game was called.

I wish my school had a Mr. Discord to teach in it, he seems so fun!

 So Twilight, what are we going to do tonight?
:facehoof: The same thing we do every night, Pinkie! Try to take over the world!

I don't understand the feature system on this site. Of course, I suppose almost nobody besides the site admins do so that people can't game the system. I am almost positive that this story wasn't ever featured before, but it got put there after I published this chapter, and this is before any additional likes came about as a result of it.
Whatever, it doesn't matter. I got featured! Woo! Thank you everyone!

when do you update this stories???
evry 2 days or 4....what????

just curious is all.....:applejackunsure:

So far it has been every day since the first chapter, but that is because I have spent the past month thinking about how it will go. I did not actually plan out every last little detail, and I didn't want to leave people waiting for more from me, so I started releasing it, and pretty soon I am going to run out of pre-planned content, although I do know how the story basically ends. Let's pray that I don't have any long periods of writer's block. :pinkiesad2:

Ah the sword in the stone.. I miss that movie.....

9001013 MLP needs an episode with a flashback where Starswirl turned himself Celestia and Luna into squirrels.

"Oh yes. I never met him myself, but there was once this stoner dude who broke into some government lab somewhere and kidnapped a talking dog because they treated it inhumanely. But after he did that, he was on the run from them, so he and his four friends, including the dog, traveled around the world in their van. In order to evade the cops and make enough cash to live, they would solve mysteries for people. It was the last thing the police would have suspected. That was some time ago though, so I'm not surprised that the talking dog that you stole from them has better enunciation than that other one did. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."

Yes. Just yes.

>"Your crown does not belong in the place Sunset Shimmer now calls home," said Luna. "And in her possession, your element of harmony will no doubt be used to bring harm to the inhabitance of this other realm. They will not have the power to defend themselves."
>"I'd like to see that put to the test," muttered Discord.

Now I actually really want to see Sunset vs the United States Armed Forces.

If magic has already leaked into the world, and there's really no putting that genie back in the bottle, you'd think there'd be an XCOM-ey governmental force somewhere to defend against such threats.

Well, this turned out to be quite long. Also, this is without a doubt the weirdest thing I have ever written.
...
You're in the  Zone!
Actually, maybe not. This chapter actually had very little to do with her.

Unless Magic gives Demon Sunset immunity to mortal weapons, a single sniper should be able to take her down.

But what kind of cheese is it? Is it at least good cheese?

9006048

Also, the blonde one was a draft dodger running from the government with his fiancee.

9036374
Yes, it is the Gouda cheese.....I'm sorry, I should be handling puns more Caephilly, but they're just too grate.

...I so badly want one of them to pick up the model of the school in the library and attempt to carry it outside of the school

9036644
It made my head hurt to think about this, but I think I actually have an answer for you about what would happen, even though they aren't going to do it. The first thing that needs to be established is that this scenario is obviously impossible in real life and that magic fills in the gaps where necessary. Because of the fact that there are an infinite number of schools that are bigger than the one that they stand in, they should all be crushed into oblivion instantly by gravity. In order to avoid that, gravitity is disconnected between schools. If Sunset were to go outside the school, across the school grounds and drop onto the table of the library, at that moment she would start experiencing more intense gravity. However, because of her relative smallness in comparison to the rest of the big school, she would still be able to stand up without problem. However, if she falls down in the intense gravity, she would hit the floor almost instantly, although thankfully it still would only hurt about as much as falling normally.

Because gravity is disconnected between schools, the school actually only sticks to the table because of the vacuum between it and the table. If they picked the model up and then released it in the air, it would float in the air and conserve whatever momentum they gave it, but still stop because of air friction. If they took the model outside and set it on the ground, the plane that the school sits on would stack on itself infinitely in a pyramid-like fashion, but there would be nothing above them at all. Because this has to be a pocket universe, the only thing that would be above them is space. Originally, the air was totally enclosed in the school, but now it can expand into the space above them. Thankfully, gravity still keeps it bound to the school, so there would only be some decompression. But they still can't escape because gravity will keep them bound to one school or another.

If they release the school in the air above the ground outside, then the school would still hover over itself in a pyramid-like fashion, and even if they jump off the edge and land on the next school, they will never be able to get away from the school no matter how many times they do it. However, now the air from the school has an infinte amount of space below it that it can expand to, and it will. The air from the school would fall off of the school's plane and onto the next one, and probably decompress to the point of becoming unbreathable. It depends on whether or not the gravity from the school is capable of holding it tight enough to be thick enough to breath even while flowing, and I don't think it would be. It doesn't matter though, because the air is flowing from a normal sized school to a bigger sized school, and it will not be able to fill nearly as much space in that bigger school, even if it stayed put, which it won't since it will just fall off of that school too. So even though the school that the air came from will also be recieving air from the tiny school resting on top of it, it won't be enough either. This will cycle over and over, with air falling off the edge of the world until it reaches a world of extremely gargantuan proportions and finally manages to get trapped in small valleys in the ground or in the grass, and there would be no air at all to speak of. Needless to say, Sunset and Discord are dead by this point.

If we ignore the fact that they can't carry the school this far without the previous scenario happening first, let's say they take it a step further and release the school beyond the edge of the school grounds however, then they will finally be able to see the space below the school. The whole loss of air thing still happens, but I already explained what should happen there. Assuming that they don't die, they can get away from the school by jumping off the edge, but then they would fall through space for forever, even though they would lose gravity after getting away from the school, because momentum will continue to carry them away into the void.

Of course, they will never find any of this stuff out because they are scared to death of messing with the model. If they accidently dent the model, they dent their own school. If they crush it completely, they kill themselves. Discord put the cheese on the soccer field out of necessity, but they are going to stay the heck away from it otherwise, and with good reason. There are multiple ways that they can accidently kill themselves with that thing.

Of course, I am not completely certain that all of this is what would happen. There may be other factors that I didn't consider, and throwing magic into the mix makes explaining anything especially difficult. For instance, the giant cheese and the cheese that Discord put on the table should be composed of the exact same number of atoms because they are the same cheese. If that is true, then the atoms in the giant cheese are also giant, and therefore indigestible. In order to make it work, magic has to intervene somehow.

If anybody has any further ideas about what would happen in this scenario, or other ideas about how to exploit the self-referential loop, it would be interesting to hear them.

9036952
Actually, I think I already know of one correction. In the situation where they set the school on the ground outside of the school, yes there is now space above for the air to fill, but that air will not be filled by their own air decompressing, it will be filled by the air from the bigger school, which has enough air that it towers up way higher than the atmosphere in the normally sized school, so it would fill up their atmosphere to a high air pressure without losing very much of it's own air, and it is also receiving addition air from the school bigger than it, and so on. The air pressure would not be completely crushing because the range of each school's gravity only reaches so high. However, because the air can flow freely between all of the schools, the amount of air will fluctuate as the total amount goes up and down for the same reason that the amount of cheese increases. If air flows into the smaller school, then the air supply increases. However, if the air flows into the larger school, the amount of air decreases. Because of both the fact that the larger school is below them, and air wants to fill the bottom of things first, and the fact that the amount of area where the air is traveling into the larger school is much greater than the amount of area where there is air going into the smaller school, the air supply is going to tend decrease. So in that scenario, the amount of air would slowly diminish until there is almost none left.

Isn't life wonderful? You never know what sorts of hypothetical madness you'll be contemplating a week or two from now.

Sorry I took a little while with this chapter. My laptop is having problems. I think I've fixed them for now, but I'm hoping that they don't come right back.

Hmm, we're a little tense here, aren't we? Hang in there.

Oh no. he's completed the Psijic Endeavor! Reality's going to turn into

This sure would be a good time to be ANYWHERE OTHER THAN HERE!

9076168
The funny thing is, the Psijic Endeavor is actually shockingly similar to some practices from western occultism, more specifically some of the more advanced concepts/practices of Hermeticism and Kabbalah, as well as the concept of enlightenment as the Buddhists call it. The concept is basically that as a person, you are an aspect of creation itself, so you can assume the authority of creation itself and twist reality to your own desires if you so choose.

~Crystalline Electrostatic~

9076316
I rather doubt he's put that much thought into it. Rather, he's lucid dreaming whilst awake. A Daydreamer. As such, reality is subject to his subconscious mind as well as his deliberate intent. They need to fix this before he happens to fall asleep or everything will collapse into undefined potentiality.

Whelp...this is not good. -is running for understatement of the year award-

Well, this is an interesting development.

what were the last words of the last surviving Dalek in the battle for Arcadia?

Is it wrong of me if I want to see Sunset suffer after all this?

9082343
Out of curiosity, do you also want to see Discord suffer? And did you also want Sunset to suffer in the actual movie?

9082352
Well... Discord is just insane so I wouldn’t say that I want him to suffer. As for Movie Sunset, no. I like canon Sunset. Don’t get me wrong, I like your Sunset character, but I’m just a HUGE Twilight fan (as in Twilight Sparkle not those movies), so whenever the “villain” trash talks her I get a little angry. Nothing else.

By the way, this is a great story!

Go Go Princess Twilight

Once you use it to assume your pony form, we will have to magic casters, we might be able to overcome Discord.”

Think you meant two magic casters

Discord is, unsurprisingly, a massive troll.

"Twilight, Discord's escaped! Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude!"

9082587
Quick form the giant robot that totally isn't some guy in a bulky costume!

“It’s morphin’ time.”

9083091
Nah, Discord doesn't need the pass phrase.

Well, Sunset is kinda on the same page as Twilight and her friends. Still, I suspect that forcing the Element of Magic to work for a single person isn't going to be enough to stop Discord, someone who's power was meant to be used individually. With any luck, though I seriously doubt Rainbow will be the one to pull it off, the humans or Twilight can convince Sunset to work together with them to pacify Discord's rampage.
