This would start rather awkward.
Bullying was always a big problem I faced in my elementary and middle school years, so stories that have to do with bullies learning their lesson and similar topics/situations are always interesting to me. I honestly can't wait to see where this goes and what kind of lessons are learned.
Reading this story for the first time, I can tell Silver's parents are going to be pleased by the switch.

Interested in seeing where this goes. So far, it's been quite amusing. The prologue coasted by quickly, establishing alt-Spoon's behavior, but chapter 1 was quite amusing. Discord has the right idea!
Hopefully it won't take too long for somepony to openly point out that Silver Spoon keeps referring to events that they do not recall the same way. Admittedly, Apple Bloom, being in class, has a better excuse than Soft Rose for not doing so.

That's making the assumption that Diamond Tiara's behavior won't just make things worse. See, the best lies use a lot of truth, and DT isn't the most socially adept filly to begin with; by egging her on, Discord provokes her into screwing up.
It's actually right up his alley. Twilight is the one he needs to worry about; she could suck all the fun out of the situation before anyone learns their lessons. The author has the same interpretation of reformed Discord that I do; instead of messing with ponies to make them turn against their true nature, he forces them to reveal the ugliness already inside of them and confront it. Like he does to Twilight. Repeatedly.

Twilight does seem to cool down after this, but it still seems a bit odd to me that she would blow off an apology with those words if the offense was enough to make her so mad she was almost evaporating the water she had fallen into, instead of explicitly accepting it—however curtly. (If the offense was actually trivial to her, then I could see it.)
Still, that's a very minor point. Overall, the scene was pretty good, and I wouldn't necessarily say that it's too soon. I was expecting at least one of the crusaders to get on the case first, but Twilight+crusader(s) would be about as interesting. I suppose the question now is whether DT will beat them to it.
Yeah, see, I'm not overly fond of Discord playing at being a mentor, which is more to amuse himself and humiliate others as actually teaching them, and not getting any serious pushback at some point. This looks like it won't be the case here since he's screwing up lives left and right. Twilight should be very cross with him, he's breaking up friendships left and right.

That's the problem with Discord's "mentoring", he breaks into your house and smashes your things because he likes seeing people angry or unhappy, and when you're done picking up the mess he'll gloat about what you're supposed to have learned from it.

I know that things are going pretty well for the Silver Spoons, but I hope that Discord does get at least some kind of punishment for his reckless actions (unlike Starlight).

Alternative Silver Spoon is what real Silver Spoon would have become if raised under different circumstances.
The original one was raised by rich family in full comfort (father always busy to earn bits and overprotective mother who sure that Silver Spoon don't need to put efforts into anything. Not to mention that friendship with low-class filles is not something Silver's mother aprove of.
The alternative version sped a lot of time with her father (while mother is busy with her work), her family isn't as rich and her father is more to earth pony who value hard work more than status and how rich someone is. Not to mention that befriending CMC helped her get more initiative and improve her physical condition. When she started receiving lessons from Twilight Sparckle (Twilight Time), she also got a glimse of how heroes defend Equestira from dangers, which motivate her to be as good assistant as she can be for the princess she admires. (The fact that she didn't know what her cutie mark is about opened a door for her to befriend CMC).
The only thing that goes for original Silver Spoon is that she know what her cutie mark is about. She know that her speciality lies in cooking high-class food and preparing great tea, but since her mother is against physical labor, she never got the chance to use her talent for anyone.
So long story short, Silver Spoon have a potential to become a much better character if she was raised differently. Alternative Silver Spoon is an enbodiment of that.

That's rather one-sided, isn't it? I must confess, it feels uncomfortable to have two versions of a character presented, one of whom (namely the one from the show) meant to be the obviously inferior one. That, and the superior variant also gets to talk down to the adults in town, like with MacIntosh, even though Twilight's friends are quite capable of dealing with monster attacks on their own. It was a mild surprise nobody told Silver Spoon she was underestimating them, even though she was, and everyone around her folded so easily.

It is not about understaminating main 6. It is about the fact that when main 6 are risking their lifes and fighting with everything they got (for who knows how many times), everyone else not only do not appreate their efforts (taking them for granted), but also believe that wedding and other every-day activities are way more important than a battle that is going on and the lives that are being put at risk.
Main 6 may be skilled and all, but it doesn't mean that they are the only one who should show initiative everytime ( they were after all original citizens of Ponyville who just happened to team up with Twilight against Nightmare Moon (without the Elements they are still ponies). Rarity is a fashionista, Fluttershy is animal caretaker ( who at one point was afraid of her own shadow) and Pinkie likes to make others happy, but they aren't fighters (Big Macentosh have a lot more durability and muscle and will be more efficient in fight than some of main 6 members). Not to mention that Big Mac at one point said that unlike his sister he's no big hero. Well, he could be a hero of this fight if he just showed initiative.)
What I try to say is that alternative Silver Spoon cannot stand that everyone take main 6 saving the day for granted and none of them even considered to assist. She took it as a big disrespect to great heroes and took it very personaly.

Thing is, they're quite likely the best fighters in Ponyville right now. They're not just their regular vocations, they're also the Elements of Harmony and seasoned heroines. They beat up Changelings by the dozens even before Twilight became an Alicorn. If Silver believes the ponies of Ponyville should throw themselves into these fights too, fine, but if any of them get hurt in the process or get in the way, I'm curious if she'll get told off for guilt-tripping them into doing so, or if she's simply going to be considered in the right by everyone again.
Applejack, for example, would have good reason to be p*ssed with Silver Spoon, both for getting her brother to risk himself and for interfering in the battle without being asked to. That would also give Alternate Silver Spoon a conflict that's not easy to solve and where she's not automatically in the right.
