After being forced to stay inside his cavern home during a particularily feisty thunderstorm, Spike begins to look back into a time in his youth where he dealt with a big storm.

The premise is okay, but the execution needs alittle more fleshing out.

For example, Mayor Mare is just the mayor of Ponyville, so anything beyond the town is out of her jurisdiction, so she really couldn't pass a law forbidding dragons from interacting with ponies outside of Ponyville. Also, you never mentioned why she passed this law.

I’m planning to write a story focusing on Spike’s life as an adult and coping with living out in the wilderness. I was going to go into more detail on why she passed the law there, but I see your point. I’ll see if I could fix it. Thanks for the feedback, I truly appreciate it.

Cool story but ehh, twilight could never be considered spikes mum, she wasnt even past her single digits when she took the test, nor would any adult ever let her take care of a baby, let alone a dragon hatchling, was also stated by spike him self in the first episode when she went to wake him up he said "you're not my mommy" if anyone took care of spike and raised him itd be princess celestia or a wet nurse until he was a certain age then given over to the sparkle family.
