The past, South Dakota in the year 1871
The Waverider materialised in the Old West, cloaking itself after landing.
"We have arrived," Rip said, as he powered down the time drive, "our first stop."
Twilight was about say something but was cut short, as she threw up over the floor.
"Ah," Rip said, "I forgot to mention some of the side effects of time travel include: nausea....."
Rip was about to list the rest of the side effects, but was interrupted by Fluttershy as she began to loose her balance and fall over.
"Vertigo," he continued.
"I'm blind! I can't see!" Rarity cried, "this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!"
"Temporary blindness," Rip carried on, "don't worry it will fade."
"What did you say?" Rainbow Dash asked, cupping a hand to her ear, "I can't hear you."
"Temporary deafness," Rip continued.
Applejack opened her mouth, but all that came out was a jumble of gibberish.
"And linguistic disorientation," Rip finished.
"So where are we?" Fluttershy asked, as she recovered from the vertigo.
"I think a better question to ask," Twilight said, as she struggled to hold back her nausea, "is when are we?"
"We have arrived in South Dakota, 1871," Gideon answered.
"You mean we're in the Old West?" Gwenpool asked.
"This is awesome!" Rainbow Dash declared, her deafness had by now worn off.
"So," Rip said, "now that we're here, we should work out a plan before we go rushing in guns blazing."
"Right," Sunset nodded.
"This time period," Rip explained, "along with three others are the only periods Kang and his forces haven't got to yet."
"So, we should split into teams of two," Sunset continued, "that way we can cover more ground."
"Then which one of us should head into the time period we're in now?" Twilight asked.
"I believe that Miss Applejack would best suited for this mission," Rip replied.
"Darn tootin'" Applejack smiled, "Gwenpools coming with me."
With that the two turned to leave the ship.
"I think it might be best if you put on something a little more appropriate," Rip said, before the two could leave the bridge.
"Good point," Gwenpool nodded.
"The ship can make what you need," Rip added, "stop by the Fabrication room before you leave."
With that, Applejack and Gwenpool left the bridge.
Moments later, the two reappeared, wearing old western attire, complete to spurs on their boots.
Gwenpool was sporting a pink Stetson, pink cowboy boots and a poncho.
While Applejack, still wearing her treasured hat, was sporting a western shirt, coat, and trousers.
"How we look?" Applejack asked.
"Fabulous," Rarity answered.
"Then we're ready," Gwenpool smiled.
"I cannot emphasise how important it is that you succeed, at saving the heroes of this period," Rip said, grimly, "because if you don't, this is the world you will return too."
On the central console, an image of desolate and lifeless earth appeared.
"The earth will be decimated by a war between Darkseid, Thanos, Apocalypse and Kang," Rip explained, "the earth's population is all but wiped out, mutants, Inhumans and meta humans are ether killed, enslaved or turned into Darkseid's servents."
"Thats not going to stand," Sunset said.
"In that case," Applejack smiled, "we've got a future save, I say we go save it."
"One more thing," Rip added.
He handed the two small watch-like devices.
"What are these?" Gwenpool asked.
"Once you've succeed," Rip Explained, "activate these recall devices and you'll be transported back to the Waverider."
"Ok," Applejack nodded, as she and Gwenpool took the devices, "we're ready."
With that, Applejack and Gwenpool exited the Waverider.
The ship taking off to its next destination.
The future, New York in the year 2069.
The Waverider touched down in the futuristic city of New York.
"Welcome to the future," Rip announced.
"The year 2069, to be precise," Gideon added.
"2069," Twilight repeated, "we're in 2069."
"Twilight," Sunset said, as her friend began to hyper ventilate, "breath."
"This one of two futures that hasn't been effected by Kang's time meddling," Rip stated, "yet."
"In this time period, much has changed since your time," Gideon explained, "the heroes of this period you will have to save are the Justice Force Beyond."
"I'll go," Twilight perked up, "we're in the future, how could I pass up an opportunity like this?"
"I guess I have to come too," Sunset smiled, "someone has to keep an eye on you."
With that, Twilight and Sunset head for the Fabrication room.
"I can't wait to see what the fashion of the future is like," Rarity squealed.
A moment later, Twilight and Sunset returned, wearing exactly the same clothes just darker and recall devices on their wrists.
"Well," Rarity commented, sadly, "that's anti-climatic."
London, 1889
"Our second to last stop," Rip said.
"Welcome 1889s London," Gideon added.
"Sounds like a mission for you Miss Rarity," Rip smiled.
"You are most certainly right," Rarity nodded, "if history lessons have taught me anything is that the fashion of this period is simply divine."
Rarity, still we an excited look on her face, hurried out of the room, after which she returned wearing a detective style outfit.
"Well, what do you think?" Rarity asked, "I modelled it after the adventures of Shadow Spade."
"I don't think thats quiet an appropriate outfit for this time period," Rip replied.
"You might want to select something little more form fitting for this mission," Gideon added.
Grumbling slightly, Rarity left the bridge.
She returned, moments later, Rarity reappeared this time wearing a slightly more accurate outfit.
"Much better," Rip nodded.
"Its not quiet, what I had in mind," Rarity said, looking down at the outfit, "but I suppose it will have to do."
"I think that you and Fluttershy will be perfect for this mission," Rip continued.
"Oh, OK," Fluttershy replied.
Smiling Rarity led Fluttershy out of the bridge to the Fabrication room.
The 31st century.
"Welcome to the 31st century," Rip declared, "home of the Legion of Superheroes."
"At this point and time," Gideon explained, "humanity has become closed off and repressive, society thinks that physical contact of any kind is unsettling, the heroes of this time have taken it upon themselves to remind the population of the values of love, tolerance and friendship that you and your friends embodied through your actions and music."
"Sounds like a mission for someone as awesome as me," Rainbow Dash smiled.
"Count me in too," Pinkie nodded, "someone got to remind the people of the 31st century how to party."
Without another word, both Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash headed for the Fabrication room.
Moments later, the two returned to the bridge.
"Alright," Rainbow Dash said, "we're ready."
"But your not wearing anything different," Rip sputtered, "your wearing exactly the same clothes you were wearing when you left the bridge?!"
"Yeah," Rainbow Dash replied, "I wouldn't be caught dead wearing any of the clothes the Fabrication room made for us."
"Well," Rip said, reluctantly, "I suppose I can let this slide, just this once."
"Yay," Pinkie smiled.
With that, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, after collecting the recall devices from Rip, dashed out of the Waverider.
"Do you think they'll succeed, Captain Hunter?" Gideon asked, once the last of the girls had left the ship.
"They have to Gideon," Rip answered, "otherwise, Kang wins and all hope is lost."
Kang the Conquer's ship, Damocles.
"So it has begun," Kang smirked.
Again, splendid job on this latest chapter. The exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places.
I particularly liked the demonstrations of the side effects to time travel as well as the divisions of the teams .
My guess is that each of the next four chapters will be focused on one of the teams and their efforts to protect the heroes' of that era .
I'm also going to guess that at least some of the members of the Justice Force Beyond will include the Terry McGinnis Batman as well as the adult versions of at least a few of the Rainbooms themselves .
I have a possible idea for an epilogue scene for a sequel hook: There could be a brief scene where Thanos is searching the multiverse for the Infinity Gems and finds out one of them is on Earth (where he would logically have to deal with the Justice Force AND the Rainbooms) and another one is in another dimension on a world called Foenum (to set up a possible crossover with "Them's Fightin' Herds") .
Of course, I can completely understand if my guesses are wrong and you already have a better idea and I will still be looking forward to more, regardless.

As always glad you like the chapter and thanks for the ideas

You are VERY welcome. :-D
And to be fair, only one of them was an actual idea; the other two were just guesses. (sheepish grin)

whoops thanks anyway

Perfectly all right. It's an honest mistake.
Anyway, I HAVE thought of more stuff, not for THIS story, but for some possible future stories in this universe:
1. If you DO go for the possible idea of Thanos being the main villain of the next story and having him hunt for the Infinity Gems across the multiverse, you could have still another one of the Infinity Gems end up on Equestria itself, so it would be possible to include the main MLP: FiM universe in the crossover (especially if the two Twilights, Sunset and some of the more tech AND magic savvy heroes working together manage to find a way to get the teams of heroes to the universes they need to get to.
2. If you include the Rainbooms and the Justice Force meeting humanized versions of the Them's Fightin' Herds main characters in a future story, well, Human Arizona could have super-strength on Applejack's level as well as super-speed on Rainbow's level, Human Oleander could have similar abilities to Raven, Human Velvet could have near-flight leaping and ice-generating/controlling powers, Human Tianhuo can fly, possess flame breath and have strength and durability on a par with a human-sized dragon, Human Paprika could have Cartoon Physics inspired abilities (basically like Pinkie, but turned up a bit on that front and WITHOUT the ability to kinetically charge sugar) and Human Pom could have limited gliding abilities and a telepathic link with dogs (admittedly not that impressive-sounding compared to what the others can do, but that could account for her low self-esteem and could lead to Fluttershy and one or more of the other Rainbooms giving her a heart-felt Better Than You Think You Are speech)
3. Well, even if Thanos DOES become the main villain of the next story, there could still be some stuff in the epilogue that sets up the human counterparts of Chrysalis and Sombra becoming villains in further future stories.
and 4. If you DO choose to include epilogue set-ups for Human Chrysalis and Human Sombra, the epilogue of THIS story could have a scene with Human Chrysalis giving herself the combined proportionate abilities of EVERY type of insect and arachnid on Earth (including, but not limited to, super-strength, super-durability, flight, sticking to and walking on walls and ceilings, greatly heightened senses and the ability to shoot out organic spider-webbing that is dozens of times more elastic than nylon and so strong that only somebody at the strength level of Superman or the Hulk can break it) as well as a telepathic link with any insect and arachnid within her immediate area while the epilogue for the NEXT story could include her giving a number of random thugs injections that grant them limited shape-shifting abilities and the combined proportionate abilities of a single different insect AND arachnid each (which would give her control over an army that would basically serve as a fusion of Cobra and the Decepticons [the main villain teams of two of Hasbro's OTHER most popular franchises]).
Of course, I fully respect your right to choose to NOT use ANY of these ideas. I just couldn't resist sharing them. (sheepish grin)

You're quite welcome. :-D
