Heh, well my opinion of the Steel Rangers has never been very high given their reckless murdering of civilians to horde technology for no other purpose than to horde it. I haven’t read any other offshoot story of the original FoE because I wanted to have a story of my own to explain the Pre and Post-War eras.
Is Athena Crete a human? Her name sounds like a human name...
Um...she is most definitely a pony darling. If you are just now picking up the story then you've missed out on her making fun of her own name much earlier on in the story. It's a human name yes but it is a fictional being named Athena. It was my own mother's name and I wanted to honor her.

Why did you make the chapters so long all of a sudden?
Wow, this was exhausting! I mean because the lack of commas. So some sentences just kept going and going! Other than that, I like it so far, I recommend using the voice read. Helps with finding the places for commas.
Why did it take me this long to get that the Queens were basically the Kings... I’m disappointed in myself. Lmao. Loving the story!
I find myself in tears. This hardened merc has found love...not in the way many FOE fics like to have, but mother's love...for a child. This is what many fics seem to ignore. This is an amazing fic so far. I do hope there will be more updates.

Hello there :) I apologize for the long absence. Personal concerns came up and I had to abandon this for some time. With the help of my bf I am going to be doing some reworks to this to fit the additions and minor alterations he and I have been brewing up as he is also attempting to write a story of his own involving this particular FoE universe. Don't expect chapter 30 for awhile as I will be editing the previous chapters to fit the slight expansion/redirection the story will be taking. Finally got a job after a long time unemployed so my time will be more limited again but now I've got some needed help I'll try to hop on this again. :)

Why thank you! Things have been progressing slow and steady thankfully enough although I'm encountering some issues now that I'm splitting the longer chapters into two. I need to make more Pre-War chapters to fill in the gaps

Heh, that is a pretty broad question and one I haven't quite put enough time into. I always picture Athena with Kate Beckinsdale's voice for some reason, Gold is similar to Spike's but a bit harsher and more Ghoulish, Melody...idk, Elliot Page when he was younger. The rest...I'd have to think on that for awhile but I'm not sure heh. Been more focused on the expanding lore between my boyfriend's story and this one to think about a VA cast lol.
A huge thank you to all who have helped me get to the 350k word mark and another for everyone who has stuck with me for this long through this project. Just hit my first major milestone in both word count and plot elements and I'm excited to see where it goes!

Sorry all, progress has been slow due to my work schedule and the fact I finally bought Elden Ring and as a big FromSoft fan, it's kinda been taking up a lot of my free time. (That and writing can be rather exhausting so it can be all too easy to do something less brain intensive lol
)
Really good chapter my character would be proud of what Athena said because he hates slavers especially the one that killed his parents and shot, him twice in the back of his head yes he survived it but it's only because a rouge alicorn changed the path of the bullets to go around the brain and out the back. It took a few weeks for him to recover and he did, he has a farm and it does produce some crops mainly corn and a few different mutated fruits are veggies, plus he has a hidden armory of every weapon and armor including enclave power armor which was his dad's armor.
I mean, if you were an antimachinist, shouldn't you have or had access to some good sabot rounds? I mean, for a 20mm sabot that's worth... What, 60-100mm penetration of rolled homogenous armor? I mean, a standard API is fun and all with the explosive filler, but what about the joy you get from punching out each organ one by one? The joy in not having to lead as much? The challenge is knowing every shot matters with the decreased sprawling?
Having a couple of grams of explosive filler is cheating! Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a tank or two around the wasteland.

Trust me, she has access to APFSDS rounds for her 25mm. She just tends to prefer a bit of a boom when she hits something since AP in general is kinda wasted on infantry-type targets who aren't in Power Armor. To be frank, using a penetrator at all is a bit of a waste for her day-to-day job but she has the money to waste and just can't get enough of casting new rounds with one included. As for tanks...well, they definitely exist although the lore for them and implementation are still being actively brainstormed since it opens a can of logistical worms of its own. Haven't really considered having many characters from the show appear in the story aside from some notable names like the Mane 6 and even then they are just spoken about rather than actually showing up as a character. To be frank I don't think I have included anyone outside the Mane 6 by name outside of Minuette, Derpy and a couple mentions of Rose Luck.

Thank you! :) I don't plan on abandoning it, I just have an issue with being a bit slow of a writer. The original plot I had for this has been more or less scrapped at this point and I am still unsure about where I'm going with certain points which only drags it out longer. Apologies for the delays!

Yes, I'm the one who's editing his story given he is still new to writing and by sitting idle on this one, I was also neglecting to work on his. It doesn't help his next chapter more or less needs to be written by me from scratch since most of the details is stuff I'm much more familiar with. Once his goes its own separate way again, it'll hopefully be easier for him to write on his own and get more stuff out.

One thing I find interesting is there are other species joining in and helping the ponies, yet the Zebra's still pose a great challenge.
Been busy lately to remember a lot of details it seems, but this is a story I quite enjoy reading! I'll have to give it a reread to properly take it all in.
