Remedyfortheheart

My name is Remedy. Call me Remi. I've recently come into the fandom and have always had a secret passion and natural knack for writing and reading. So now with that said I'm setting it to the test.

Defeat keeps a lingering taste at the back of your throat. Everything feels tense and the frustrations only add to it. Mentally and physically. It's a feeling that we've never come to know. Now we have to be reminded everyday about it.

It feels like I'm being provoked. That someone is laughing at me somewhere. Always smiling in glee that we no longer pose a threat to others. I am not one to be pushed around. I am a Goddess! I refuse to be humiliated in this manner! So how dare they! I'll find a way. You won't get away with this! My name is Adagio Dazzle and you will respect my name!

-This is how the Dazzlings continued their lives after the experience of their defeat at the hands of the Rainbooms in the Canterlot High School Music Festival. Will they learn their lesson? Will they survive? Or is their struggle only beginning? Every gem in time loses its luster and its features dull out, yet can these hidden gems shine again? Let's find out.

The premise (and the dulling metaphor) has grabbed my interest. Discord going out of his way to offer the Dazzlings his aid for seemingly no other reason than "I feel your pain" is something that I don't think has really been explored in depth by other FiM fics. I see this fanfic as an opportunity to not only explore how the Sirens are affected by the loss of their magic but also how a being like Discord can sympathize with what it's like to have a Friendship Laser knock you down from the pedestal of "I can basically do whatever I want" and "causing chaos is what I do."

This is EG discord. He has no powers therefore winds up as a hacl of a man. Armed only with many talents. His persona doesn't change which leads him to be unliked within the community.

Keep an eye out for this one. I have plenty of ideas to turn things around and make ya look the other way.

Ah, that makes more sense. Still, you have my attention. Discord's EG counterpart is rarely explored because, well, what would he be like without powers to back up his personality?
For further clarity, could you tell me how you view Discord's personality? I always felt that equestrian Discord could rebel against government and reject social relationships for so long because he had so much power as an individual. EG Discord on the other hand, probably had to make a lot more compromises to survive in a world where you actually have to talk to people to buy food or get a driver's license. Anyone stubborn can get a lot done online these days but at some point, you'll have to rely on someone else who's actually qualified to certify you or submit your information into a database or something.

Well it is strange yes. I mean the ruling figures of Equestria are reduced to a high achool.principle and vice principle. So figuratively Discord should somewhere along that same range yet rejected all the same. Same with their normal.versions.

Its a concept that meed not be explored outside of their school environment since everything is based around it. Cough cough Hasbro! But part of the series nonetheless.

So far, this has been an interesting read with a nice flow. Furthermore, I really like the more realistic idea of what the gems' destruction might mean for the Sirens. I have to admit, this version of Discord creeps me out, but I understand that they had no other choice than to follow him home. Grammar and spelling seemed alright, though watch out for the lack of commas, and also tense inconsistencies, there were a few slip-ups. Also, transgressives (those sentences with the verbs in -ing form) should never be standalone. Anyway, I hope to see this story continue!

Oh hey a comment! I've been looking into this one and have been thinking about its continuation. If you check the date this story is years old. Still, it is one of my better ideas that I'm proud of. So, thank you for your feedback.

You're welcome! Well, I have a thing for books over hundred years of age, so a story published in 2018 is a fairly recent thing for me :twilightsheepish: Still, I get your point. At least I can hope that my comment will be seen as a piece of general advice :scootangel:
