Well in the end, he didn't. During it though, when his heart was consumed with uncertainty and disbelief that he could ever have a fondness in Princess Luna's heart, he despaired. He was so embarrassed over the idea that Princess Luna might laugh at his expense that he lamented even being born.... and then it turned out Princess Luna liked him too. :D
We all love Luna - you've done well to capture the romance.
