It was written because I, and a few others like me, have fetishes. I write fetish stories to satisfy myself where no one else will, and to satisfy others who share my particular taste, again where no one else will. Anyone without the fetishes will not understand what it's like to have them, will not understand the appeal. Especially for something that's generally considered disgusting.
There are times I wonder why I write them, and when my fetish side has settled down sometimes I feel a little bad about it. But, I know I do a few users like them, and there is no wrong way to fantasize!

Based on the public reaction to your stories I can only imagine what kind of backlash I am going to receive if I try to write a slasher style gore fic.
I theorize that I have some fetishes of my own, it's just I am pretty sure that they are going to make other people extremely uncomfortable. Another thing is I don't think that people associate ponies with the same kind of messed up things that humans are going to do because the ponies are family friendly.

I think those would be better received than fetish fics.
Also, surprisingly a lot of people do associate the ponies with this messed up stuff, but with more of the actual sexual stuff rather than the fetishes. Such fan works have even gotten a name: Clop. (Besides, it's a little hard to resist when the show focuses on the female ponies' butts as much as it does, especially Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, even if it's done in a family-friendly way for the most part. And they seem to sneak in as much fetish fuel as they can get past the radar, even showed Pinkie in desperate need of a bathroom in Season 2, and canonized farting in Season 6, if only with a whoopee cushion, although the comics did have Rarity fart on screen. And they showed they don't mind what we do by having Celestia say "there is no wrong way to fantasize".)
Also, the tagging system now has a separate "Fetish" tag, as well as a "porn" genre tag, which might help people who dislike pure fetish fuel stories or stories with fetish but no actual sex, avoid them. Or vice versa!

I think that's pretty common. Besides, though you're probably talking more along the lines of violence, sometimes it's just as fun for me if the characters satisfying my fetishes are humiliated - but only for fictional characters, I just couldn't take pleasure in a real life instance of that. However extreme my stories get I am a lot softer underneath all that.
If you were going to write a violent gore story for your fetish, if you don't make it seem sexual, then all people will see it as is a violent story, like a lot of the horror movies. (Of course put the Gore and Death tags on) And I am pretty sure people will like that kind of story more than the ones I write. My fetishes are understandably perceived to be some of the weirder and more disgusting ones, plus my stories are pure fetish fuel with almost no real story to them.
As for the furry thing, I'm not sure whether that's a fetish or simply whether furries are simply characters you like to fetishize most.

Probably being sexually attracted to the anthropomorphic characters who happen to look like animals but at the same time, they do have enough personality to mimic a human being. The whole thing is very confusing when you think about it.
I wrote one about the ponies doing the same thing and put it as the next chapter but I never published it, and, with the realization of how lame my stories are, I deleted it entirely. I did keep it as a file on my computer for my eyes only, but I'm never sharing any of my fetish stories with anyone again.
