CHAPTER 3: THE BEGAINING

“Welcome new students to Starswirl Academy, I'm Headmaster Celestia. As you may know this school trains fighters to protect this world from evil magic, demons, and even the gods themselves if needed, and today we will be seeing who will make it to the Dragon cave to get their weapons.” She said starting the match ups. After a few hours of fights Twilight, Final, Charlotte, and a few others are waiting for the last match. “Oh dear, looks like we have and odd numbers of new students this year so the last one will fight me.”

Twilight looked over at Valrek who was the last one. “He's dead.” She said as her head started hurting. “What did he do like this?” She asked seeing a man a man with red horns sticking out of his head, a red devil tail, wearing a ripped up long red coat. The man was facing down a dragon that was attacking a village. “So the Headmaster is a dragon to him.”

“Twilight are you ok?” Charlotte asked putting her hand on her shoulder.

“Ya, I'm good.” Twilight snapped at her looking worried. “I just get headaches easy.”

“Ok, let's watch this fight.” She said looking at the stage.

“Well Twilight's friend Valrek right are you ready to fight?” The headmaster asked looking at him.

“Don't know you ready to lose?” He asked drawing his blade.

“Good.” Once she said that the arena got really hot. “Come to me lance of the SUN!” She yelled at a bright pillar of light hit the ground next to her. “This is the second Strongest celestial weapon. So let's test your steel kid.” And with that the fight began.

“Fire shot!” The headmaster yelled shooting fire balls at Valrek.

“Damn I can't get close to her.” Valrek thought to himself “But wait every time she uses one of her spells she has to wait to use the next one.” He found a way to get to her and started smiling.

“What's so funny kid?” She asked readying another fire ball.
“Right here.” He dashes at her and when she shots her fire ball he moves out around it but his plan was wrong she kicked his blade away and smashed him in the back with her lance. “Ok, that didn't go how I thought it was gonna go.”

“You really think I didn't know the draw back of my own weapon then you aren't ready to fight here.” She said turning to walk away but a sound cough her attention. A black Broadsword came flying from her office. “How that sword was sealed away!” She asked surprised.

“I don't know but I think it wants me to use it to take you down and help my friends.” He said taking hold of the sword and running at her and as she shot fire balls at him his new sword cut right through them. “You. Lost.” he poked her making her fall out of the ring.

“Ok, looks like I lose the fight to you so your going with your friends at the leader of their team.” She told him as Twilight, Final, and Charlotte ran and as asked. “WHA?” “You girls heard me he showed a good mind when fighting me and the dark royal broadsword chose him as a wilder so he's better then you three think.” She said as he passes out. “I guess my last hit just “hit” him.”

The next day Valrek woke up in a moving cart. “Hey your alive.” Twilight said handing him h cup of water.

“Thanks. Hey where are we?” He asked taking the cup and taking a drink.

“Six miles away from the Dragon cave.” Final told him looking back in on them. “So how did you beat the Headmaster anyways?”

“You guys didn't see all the openings she was leaving to get hit from?” He asked witch made them blight in amazement. “Yes, her attacks where fast but with all that speed she left holes in witch someone could run in and get a hit, but she had them covered, so a frontal assault made the most since.” He said right before Charlotte chimed in.

“Making her react faster to the incoming enemy that was going to hit her, and if the other person was fast enough they could hit her blind spots hard.” Charlotte said looking back at them. “You came up with that all on the fly?”

“I always do. I do first think in the middle of the act.” He told them making Twilight giggle and the other two look dumfounded. “Hey give me some credit, I'm smart when I need to be.”

“I do, when ever you show that you have brains.” Twilight said making everyone laugh as they pulled up to a cave with an odd energy coming from it. “I guess where here.” Twilight said a little scared of what might be inside.

“Calm down Twi you know I'll always protect you no matter what it may be.” Valrek told her giving her a slight smile. “Now let's get going and find our weapons.”

“Ya!” The girls yelled as they started to walk in.

Back at school Headmaster Celestia was sitting in her office as a man in black walked in.

“How long has it been Nexus?” Celestia asked turning to him. His hair was a deep black, his eyes as white as new snow, and blue flames spun around his arms.

“To long, and the gate has been open.” He told her making her jump.

“The guardians, are they ok?” She asked walking over to a book case and making it move to revile a stairwell.

“Yes, they are ok and waiting for what ever came out of the door to strike.” He told her as they walked down the stairs to see half a sword. “You should keep the sun half with you at all times.”

“No this sword is to strong even for me, so just for now make sure you keep me up to date on him. Got it.” She told him turning around walking to the stairs.

“And the boy?” Nexus asked looking at her.

“Keep an eye on him and his friend too. He may have no memory but his power is still in him.” She told him as they both left sealing the door.

In another area a man in all black stood with three people.

“Master what are you waiting for get the sword and bring back our king.” One of the followers asked kneeling behind the man in black.

“Not yet my brother's not back yet, and he's the only one who has the power to use them both, and we need to kill him.” The man said opening a portal of darkness. :Now let's go.”

Back with Valrek and his team. “Taking him down you two.” Twilight yelled staggering a undead knight and having Valrek and Charlotte slicing it apart.

“Oh ya nice job you two.” Final told them smashing the skull.

“Hey teamwork works.” Valrek said looking at a door. “Ready to get our real weapons girls?”

“Hell ya!” They yelled opening the door.
