Nice chapter. I rather liked the end of it. Quite... Ironic...
forget i said anythind dint read the auther s note
The end was enjoyable and its nice to see thw girls but what I want to see is Luna deciding she needs a spec-ops unit to do te real dirty work and casually naming Rainbow Dash to lead it. A unit called the Shadowbolts...
8256540 Rainbow Dash would be the least suitable mare for the task.
Sky Stinger, maybe.

That's why I said it. She gets thrown into the deep end by Luna who doesn't understand RD is unsuitable. And Loyalty will follow orders. It would also be an idea that it's RD who rescues the girls and not Twilight at the end of the story but halfway through in a daring rescue and raid.

I'm just going to say here that Luna, as embarrassed as she was by her rebellious Goth phase, probably wouldn't be naming units after things she did as Nightmare Moon. Especially not things with such an 'edgy' name like the Shadowbolts. Really doesn't strike me as something she'd do.

Sure, get the egotistic braggart, you know, the guy who will brag about the things he's done to lead a unit that needs to exist in near total secrecy. Honestly, Lighting, from what we've seen might be the best option - she's competent (and can only really become more so) and she's got a cool head, cool enough to ask Rainbow's forgiveness and when the battle was over, to deal with her emotional baggage.

I honestly wasn't expecting the attack on the prison to be a genuine search. Would've made much more sense, at least to me, for it to be a lie about Equestrian intelligence capabilities. I'm also rather surprised that the entire thing wasn't about inserting assets. Mostly a force from the Night Guard's that was inserted during the attack to mess with hostile economy (boy, that bridge sure looks important) and a few Equis officers to establish themselves locally. Of course, Fleur wouldn't need to know about that sort of thing if it were carried out by an operations division of Equis that reports more-or-less directly to Luna, rather than through the general command structure.
Also, an Apocalypse Now reference? Really? Now I have to judge you really hard.
