This was a rather unique take on Spike's friendship with the girls. I don't think I've ever seen them compared to hoofball players (or gum) before. But it was a good concept, and reminded me of a few times from my childhood when I was faced with something I really wanted to do, but ended up choosing to spend time with my family instead. Plus, you got Spike's characterization down pretty good, in my opinion.

Heh, I also found the tidbit of the game being mare-dominated amusing. Kinda the opposite from our world. (Also, I think that the Equestrian version of Seattle is spelt Seaddle, with "dd" instead of "tt".)

Good story. Kudos!
