Definitely an interesting story angle - I'm curious to see where you go with it.
The thumbs-down you're getting are probably due to grammar issues - you've got a ton of run-on sentences that should be parsed out into separate ones, and some of your paragraphs could be broken up into smaller chunks as well. Doing that will make the story a bit easier to read.

It's all explained in my blog posts if your interested, but if your lazy then I'll give you a quick overview here; I was in exam season and that was why my writing was so slow, recently though, even though I've finished my exams for the year I still have a heck-load of work and stuff I need to do, even more than when I had the exams. I assure you I have tried to write despite this, I always do, but in about three days I managed to write about 300 words. To give you a comparison, I wrote the entire first 5 chapters of Oldnew Luna in a week. So, I've decided that I should probably take a break from writing for a while, but don't worry, I will come back.
