And bravo Fluttershy! Not many of us can turn our loves into a means to support ourselves.
I personally would have loved to see this as a long story, at least with Fluttershy and Discord.
Awwww, it ends just when it gets good. Oh well, suppose one must always keep the reader hungry for more!
Damn, this hit me in the feels hard.
This feels like a good scene that occurs in the middle of all the other weedverse stories. I enjoyed it. And you can always revisit the events in a different story at a later time should you be so inclined.

Huh, I hadn't expected quite that dynamic between Fluttershy and Discord, although it does make a lot of sense. It'll be interesting looking out for hints as to the progression of this in the background, if that's what you're planning to do (of course, knowing, me I'll miss most of them), Discord still has some growing to do, but that's what the Weedverse is about.
It takes guts to do something like this, you tell a very good Fluttershy, retaining all her nervousness and kindness, but still with a core of strength to do what's necessary. I do understand the Mane 6's concern about her ability to let them go, although that is a lesson she learned with the Breezies, so she'll probably be ok, even if there's some metaphorical (or perhaps literal) tubs of ice-cream involved.
Good for Flutters standing up to Discord, but I don't think this will help his continuing reformation much.
Neat. Kinda hard on the reality trigger, so ouch. But good job.
My one gripe is that this so feels like a prologue to a longer story.

I feel that, overall, it paints a far more realistic picture of the Weedverse as a whole.
Things aren't perfect. Some things are better, some are worse, and happy endings aren't guaranteed.
Discord has become a force for good, and that's a good thing. He's helpful, in his own way, and he tries to deal with the issues that Equestria is facing. Everybody benefits. Except Fluttershy, because their friendship has suffered a great deal with him being gone all the time. In this instance, it is the price of progress.

You might not have, but I did. I trust that my constant readers will piece things together.
You know, Twilight wouldn't have to completely worry about Pinkie, Dash and Rainbow drifting off onto their own lives away from Ponyville if she hasn't made it impossible for herself to enter the Astral Realm or whatever it is called, as I am sure if she could she could make her own versions of Helianthus, Mellonella Moth and whatever Cadence's piece of soul double is named to travel with them to help give her some peace of mind. But Sadly she had to turn something simple into something impossible.
While it does make a sort of sense given their characters, narratively the thing with Discord makes no effing sense. It came out of nowhere in a scene about an entirely different subject. You could argue that Discord was her "first foster", but I think that's getting into territory that would require this fic being longer than it is, and actually going into that thematically.
So...it was going well as a cohesive story until Discord came in. After that it fell apart.

That's a good way to put it, detrimental as it was to the fic.
There's a balance to be struck between Narrative Causation and Linear Causation. If you have too much of the first and not enough of the second, you break the suspension of disbelief. If vice versa, you can end up being confusing or obtuse to the reader. I think in making this scene purely logical
for how Discord would actually act, it makes it less of a story and more...just "something that happened".
This takes place in the middle of a Metallica concert. Between One and Master of Puppets.
I'm curious as to whether this takes place before or after the scene in Fantastic Foals where Discord is being chased by Fluttershy for changing Angel into something? I feel like the ordering of that event and this is important for understanding the current trajectory of their relationship. If this happened first then I assume that their later interactions mean that things got a little better between them, or that Discord is at least trying... in his own frustrating way. If this happened second, however, the chase scene could have been an event that added another crack to their friendship, leading up to this.
