I honestly can't imagine Celestia being okay with this. It's so out of character as to be kind of painful, hopefully we'll get an explanation for that further down the line.

There are so many questions that you raise yet fail to answer. It's mind boggling.
You know why not have a pony make a Herm Bomb and set it off in Cloudsdale where the effects will then spread over ALL of equestria due to the weather, that way Vinyl and Octavia would have to be freed from those items since everypony would be a Herm then.
How Kafkaesque and dystopian... Perhaps a bit much. Though it's labeled as incomplete, so Vinyl and Octavia could somehow turn their situation around if there are more chapters later. Or there could be an alt ending where they escape or something if Octavia notices the police on the way and does something
