When she's not out in it, Rarity loves rain, especially when the soothing sound of it against her windowpanes acts as a lullaby to get her to sleep. Before she can rest, however, she suddenly feels a familiar urge to check on a certain unicorn filly. She finds what she expects: Sweetie Belle after a nightmare. What she doesn't expect are the filly's out-of-left-field questions and the night to turn into one where Sweetie discovers her long-held secret.

Awesome and heartwarming story, and really well written I might add.

While I prefer the canon story, that was still really good!

Well, I didn't see that twist coming until the picture was described. I was expecting Sweetie Belle was adopted or something like that.

The biggest issue I'd say is that this is actually a really interesting idea... but it doesn't really do much with it. It just gives the reveal, has Sweetie Belle react to it, and that's the end of the story. I'm not necessarily saying this needed to be a particularly long story--though it easily could have been with how this would change the status quo--but even for a short story, it feels so light. More details about the circumstances that led to this would have been appreciated.

>>Like I said, this was just a oneshot that I just HAD to type up after reading Dear Sweetie Belle. It's been on my computer for a good while, and it seemed to be the best one I actually had, so I decided to post it.

If I ever write a story like this again, I'll be sure to add more circumstances leading up to the whole reveal.

7857667 So far, I've only seen one other with this pic. In fact, reading Dear Sweetie Belle made me think of this pic, and things just went from there.

I bumped into this at random so I'm a bit unsure of if this is an off-shoot of another story, but while it was an enjoyable lighthearted story I kinda wish Sweetie had asked who her father was. Other than that, it was a very nice little story.

Oops. Heheh, now that you mention it, I DID forget that part, didn't I? Oh well, either way, thanks for the comment. :twilightsheepish:
