Wow, is the mother dead? What a turn of events, you surprised me with that, and I doubt that this will have a happy ending. I will wait for the next update, I am very intrigued, good job.

Agreed. It was a gut punch right there. Now Fine is left with two mares who are in varying grips of corruption... and the corpse of a loved one.
his wife is dead, looks like the everyone lives ending and the best ending is off the table.
the good ending, at least his daughter survives/escape the caribou could still happen.
or the last part could be her lying so he would fuck her, of course this is me being delusional to assume that he made up with his wife whose not dead and their all together. You what until the author states its not the case going to double down on this.
As annoying as the ending makes me feel(even thought, it's still pretty hot), i dunno whether or not it's true. But with the title, it's hard to say that it's true. Delusion: "an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder." The only annoying part is that i just really like Meadow, and knowing that she's probably indeed dead would be... well.. you know. But i'm still looking forward to see what'll come next.

I rewrote this chapter and the ones after to bring Meadow back. I deeply regretted killing her off, and agonized for months to find a way to bring her back in the story that would fit, but in the end, after one commenter's suggestion, I simply decided to do a rewrite.
I'm much happier with the story now, and have begun on the final chapters. Stay tuned!
So if my understanding of the rewrite is correct, Meadow is no longer dead but alive, man. I really liked the original chapter better than the rewrite. The original chapter was a really well-done job in regards to Fine losing his grasp of reality because he wasn't able to really accept Meadow's death. I found it enjoyable in making the reader still believe that Meadow is still alive when in fact she was dead and the daughter still trying to help her father in his time of grief acting as the unseen Meadows. I feel like it took the bitterness of the original chapter and just gave it a happy ending and now I am a bit saddened by that.
