Epilogue

Bunochius slept peacefully as Fluttershout flew with her on her back. Every now and then, she would mutter “Mother” in her sleep as she nuzzled the Pegasus. Fluttershout giggled when that happened.

“She really thinks of you as her mother now, does she?” Brutalight asked as she flew with the Pegasus.

Fluttershout nodded. “And thank you, Brutalight, for helping me”

“It was nothing” Brutalight said.

Fluttershout then looked down for a minute; Brutalight noticed she was staring at her scar.

“Does it still hurt?” she asked.

Fluttershout perked up at that. Brutalight was nice at times, but she seemed to be kindest when it was around her. “You’re being so nice to me, why?”

Brutalight tried to hide her blush at that question. She was about to speak when she saw that Fluttershout was staring into a mirror. She wanted to say something, but Fluttershout was just staring with an upset look. She tried to make sense why when Fluttershout moved a hoof to her scar. The reflection then showed she looked at the still sleeping Bunochius. It then dawned on her that something was still missing.

“What’s wrong?”

Fluttershout sighed. “I got my daughter back, but I don’t know how come I feel something else. I know that since I got her, it means I could now move on from…” she bit her lip before tears began to swell in her eyes.

Brutalight put a comforting hoof over Fluttershout. “Shouty, you’re crying”

“I’m not!” the mare tried to speak through the sobs. “I just got a little soft from a kid on my back and the name of my…my…”

Brutalight didn’t wait for her friend to finish as she pulled her in for a comforting hug. The Alicorn levitated Bunochius in the air with magic to avoid dropping her. Fluttershout sniffled for a minute until she finally calmed down. She pulled away from the hug and looked up to Brutalight.

“Thank you”

“Don’t mention it”

“Where’s Bunochius?”

Brutalight looked to see that Bunochius was no longer in the position she left her. The sleeping child somehow found a way on Brutalight’s left foreleg. How did she get there in ten seconds? She was about to try to pry her off when the kid nuzzled her hoof. Brutalight found it rather adorable, then looked to Fluttershout as if to ask for permission. The Pegasus nodded. Brutalight gently got Bunochius off her hoof with magic, careful not to wake her. She then held the sleeping child in her arms in a cradled position. Bunochius just nuzzled Brutalight in her sleep.

“She’s even got her mommy’s eyes, and birthmark” Brutalight commented.

Fluttershout giggled at that. “I just hope I can be a good mother”

“I think you will. But, I think all you need is therapy for broken hearts” Fluttershout flinched at that. “I don’t mean sending you to Rarifruit, she only made you worse. I think it will be best if it was somepony else who knew everything that happened”

“You mean you?”

Brutalight nodded. “I’ll go and undergo training starting tomorrow, disguised as a Normal”

“You’ll do that for me?”

“On one condition”

“Anything, you name it”

“Teach your daughter to control her host so we can take her out for a spin and don’t let your motherly duties disturb your Insanity works. It’s been a long time since I last heard you attack”

“Will do”

"And, let's work on getting her to undo the Curse she put on those foals"

"I'll tell her"

Fluttershout finally got back to her room after she and Brutalight parted ways. When she finally got to her room, Bunochius opened an eye.

“Mommy” she mumbled.

“Hello, my child. Did you enjoy your little nap?”

Bunochius nodded. “Is it almost dawn?”

“Indeed, it’s time for all Freaks to sleep”

“Can I sleep with you?”

“Okay”

Fluttershout then went to bed, Bunochius still in her hooves. The young hybrid just nuzzled her new mother lovingly.
