Blank Slate is the greatest thief of his generation, ready to pull off the heist of a lifetime. But you have to get up pretty early in the morning to get one past the pony who defines when ‘early in the morning’ is…
Equestria’s newest baron has just discovered that his new barony is entirely underwater, his new castle is a broken-down old riverboat, and his new subjects are… seaponies. Welcome to the Barony of Fen.
Preparations halt when Princess Celestia forbids the playing of the Equestrian national anthem at a concert after a copy of its original is discovered to still exist. Despite her warnings, Octavia Melody endeavors to uncover the truth.
Not a bad story, given you are more of an artist rather than writer Could use some tweaking and fleshing out to make it flow better, as well as a thorough grammar check, but it was still one of the nicer reads I’ve found here. And... very nice ending!
Hello! Have a review. I'm pretty much in agreement with EverfreePony. A nicely atmospheric entry in the long "Celestia tea fics" list. While it's a little rough in places, there's enough of interest here that if you'd turned your hoof to ponyfic rather than art I expect you'd have made some good stuff.
11684716 thank you thats very kind of you! Its certainly rough, and i dont think i hit my thesis with it as much as i should have. This story was written in large on a road trip over a day or two, so that explains the roughness. id compare it to something like a 24 hour writing prompt contest entry or a writing jam style entry. something like that, very wild and loose.
there has been times where ive thought about taking this dumb self insert character and using them to make more of these types of stories, exploring the character of some characters who didnt really get to shine. like, who even is celestia? what does she like to do? what does she like to eat? what doesnt she like to eat. stuff like that. lots of just thought experiments that may not really transfer to a narrative as well as one may like.
regardless i really appreciate you taking the time to look over this story.
11687935 And thank you very much for going to the trouble of that very interesting reply! I'm very fond of character studies, so your second paragraph caught my attention in particular. And, of course, you're very welcome.
Amazing
